The production for lights and sounds was awful.. Also Ryan was having vocal issues at the time, later to find out it was nodules, I think you hear it in his voice on that release
I think for me if I felt the songwriting was good, I could get past the vocal issues to some extent. But even so, whenever I listen to it I just feel like there's nothing there.
Lights & Sounds is such a rockin record. Waiting Game, Down on my Head, Space Travel, so many underrated cuts on there, I think. I feel like that album clicks with me in a way it doesn't with most others.
I think you're actually not very alone in that. It seems like the record has grown a lot on people over time, to the point where liking it may actually be the majority opinion.
Ocean avenue will probably always be my favorite yellowcard record, there was something about the production on that record that I just loved. It's perfect for the summer.
I'd i had to rank Ocean avenue Southern air Paper walls When you're through thinking One for the kids Lift a sail Lights and sounds
Okay I guess Paper Walls Southern Air Ocean Avenue Lift a Sail When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes One for the Kids Lights and Sounds The top two will always be painful to rank though.
I leave for a day and come back to people using words like "worst" when describing Awakening, Surface of the Sun and Rivertime Blues. I guess I'll have to stay and keep people in line ☺
Ranking would be for me: Southern Air Ocean Ave Paper Walls When you're done thinking Lights and Sounds Lift a Sail One for the Kids Hard to rank excellent albums though.
Awakening is just super cheesy and kind of has a grating melody but the guitars and drumming save it from being below good. Southern Air/Paper Walls WYTTSY Life A Sail Ocean Avenue Lights & Sounds OFTK
Southern Air WYTTSY Ocean Avenue Paper Walls Lift A Sail Lights and Sounds Earlier records don't exist to me
ocean avenue lights and sounds paper walls wyttsy southern air lift a sail one for the kids this is weird. i always thought i enjoyed lift a sail more than southern air, but apparently not.
Paper Walls Southern Air Ocean Avenue WYTTSY Lights & Sounds OFTK (Nostalgia) Lift a Sail (Just never clicked with me)
Southern Air When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes Ocean Avenue Lift A Sail Paper Walls Lights and Sounds One for the Kids Always appreciate a good ranking.
Southern Air Paper Walls Lift A Sail Ocean Avenue When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes Lights And Sounds One For The Kids It was tough to choose between SA and PW, but in the end i feel like SA encompasses what the band is about.
God damnit, alright: Paper Walls Ocean Avenue Southern Air Lights and Sounds / WYTTSY Lift a Sail (One for the Kids)
Paper Walls Ocean Avenue Southern Air When You're Through Thinking Underdog EP Lights and Sounds Lift A Sail One For The Kids
Southern Air this low just blows my mind. Even after the top three, isn't SA just a much better version of WYTTSY?
Paper Walls Southern Air Lift A Sail WYTTSY Ocean Avenue Lights & Sounds I came around to WYTTSY since the last time I posted here.
