promotion for PW was completely bungled by changes within capitol at the time..if i have my lore correct lol edit: gonna go ahead and defer to jason and obv WRK on this one, ha
You and Me —> Cut Me, Mick —> Paper Walls goes nearly gapless and is one of their best 3-song sequences IMO
just do a few dumb dance moves to 5 seconds of it on TikTok and go viral, that's all you need these days
I may be late to this but is there any “official” explanation about LP not being on YC anymore? The more I listen to “old” albums the more I find his drumming a key part of their sound. Sorry if this has been already discussed.
You have no idea how many times this has been discussed to death! There was never an official reason given, they had their differences and the band decided to make a change both in the best interest of LP and themselves. Other than the insane people of Reddit, the rest of the YC community has been pretty good about respecting their privacy and understanding that as fans we don’t need to be privy to the details. That’s all i’ve got.
Yeah, Im not a hardcore YC fan so I’ve missed a lot of stuff over the years. I have a lot of questions about the TBS line up too but I’m afraid to ask lol.
Going to do a discography run in anticipation of all the upcoming news. Starting with self-titled. This record deserves more love.
Yeah, I love this record. A great finale at a time where we thought it really was. You can definitely feel the weight of circumstances surrounding it. This album feels like two friends meeting up at a bar for a late-night drink after an exhausting week. A worthy addition to the discography. Glad it wasn’t the end.
With Ryan confirming that new music would be out before their tour dates internationally (which begins 4/2), I would have to think that some news is coming next week on all of this
The self-titled is still my favorite album. Seeing the extended version of "The Hurt is Gone" live in Seattle, my favorite YC song, was surreal. @williamryankey please record that someday, even if it's just a live recording! I was mesmerized.
Listened to the Childhood Eyes EP next in my randomized discography listen thru. Hiding In The Light is just showing off. Ridiculous addition to the library 20 years in.
