AND drumming!?!?!?!??? Holy shit!!!!!!!! My teenage, Yellowcard and Blink-obsessed drumming self is absolutely on cloud 9. The two bands that I can thank for getting me into the drums in the first place. This is surreal.
Travis Barker confirms to have produced and played on the new Yellowcard record. 8:27 in the below linked video.
Genuinely curious when and how they’ll announce this one. Would imagine it’s a pretty huge deal for them and that they’ve crafted it carefully
Nice to finally have this confirmed after the speculation I adore the newest blink albums and this seems like it'll be a fantastic fit. let's fucking go
I wonder if maybe they didn’t catch this one, he talks about it for a split second really. Can’t hide anything these days!
Yeah, my initial thoughts of watching the video was like, "yeah, they didn't anticipate that being how it was confirmed to the public" lol Regardless, Key said in the interview that dropped last week something will be out before April/Australia tour, so fingers crossed for maybe later this week, but even if not this week, no longer than one more week after that.
I mean it wasn't a secret where they were recording (and, by extent, who was producing) based on the photos they were sharing.
Totally. I wonder how much the PR influenced the decision as they clearly opt for a very different production style than Travis applies. I really don't get why you'd switch from Neal Avron, unless he was unavailable, or indeed other rock producers will a solid track record. Regardless I'm glad of the publicity they'll get from this involvement.
IMO: Do not get your hopes up on it sounding different than what they do. I love the production on OMT — so I’m totally in, but I would not go in expecting something different than their bread and butter from a production standpoint. editing because my facts are wrong
Never mind. Ignore me. For someone I thought Feldmann was working on this too. I thought that’s what I remember from a podcast or something, maybe that was just about the Disney track? My mistake; editing post. hi
Interested to see where this lands sonically in their discography. I remember @williamryankey saying before the most recent EP that they were leaning Paper Walls. Hope that trajectory continues cause i’ve always felt that was a good balance of their poppier and moodier music. Either way, hard not to be excited with bonus Yellowcard in 2025.
