For what it’s worth, someone just posted an interview on Reddit that Key just did, and he said that news will be out by the time that they tour in Australia (tour starts April 2nd), and also said they’d be playing new music in Australia.

    Holy smokes

"This is a real turning point though, once we wrap up in Australia, that's the end of riding the nostalgia wave. After that we have to stand on our own two feet making new music and doing tours that don't lean on people wanting to celebrate this time capsule moment from 20 years ago. There's so much at stake after this!"

Admittedly, hearing Ryan Key talk about new Yellowcard material was a statement I never thought I'd hear following their dissolvement in 2017. But he's not wrong, the stakes are much higher once they relaunch themselves back into the music scene - and according to Key, it all starts just before they venture back down under.

"We're in a very secretive stage of making new music right now but what I can tell you is we're very close [to] something happening, and there will be stuff when we get to Australia. But when the news does come out, it is so much more than just an album."

“When I say more than an album, I just mean that the news around it; how it was made, who we made it with, it's surreal. I'm pinching myself every day, since April of last year when we started working on it. We've really poured ourselves into this thing."

These words even being written down are mind blowing to me, I don’t want to get my hopes up too much. Either way, it sounds like we’re getting new Yellowcard music soon.

I admittedly know nothing about any of Travis' production work, but is it a common theme that he guest spots on records he producers as well?

Agree that at a minimum they definitely recorded at his studio. All of the picture comparisons from what Yellowcard was posting on their socials match-up.

Yup. If it’s not Travis, i’m obviously not bummed or anything, always excited for new music. It just seems like between studio photos, subtle hints, and now this interview with WRK it seems like they are teasing something bigger than just a normal album cycle. Whatever shakes out, i’m just thrilled we get new Yellowcard in 2025.

No clue honestly. I would think they have enough clout to get him on the record and the dude does seem to enjoy playing on music for whoever asks him to. Even if he didn’t do the drums for the record, him producing would definitely boost chatter around the record and hopefully translate into more eyes on it. Again, all speculation and i’m happy with whatever it winds up being.

Agreed with all of this. The chatter around the album if Travis just works on it would ultimately bring hype they haven't seen in 20 years. Reminds me of when Patrick Stump was supposed to be on "Here I Am Alive" but his agent made him pull out because of Fall Out Boy's upcoming/planned comeback at the time. Had Patrick been on "Here I Am Alive" like it was originally intended, Southern Air would've got such a boost.

Also, just to mention - in the interview Key says that they're "about a month away" news being out there. The video clearly shows that he was in his home studio, which he recently (about two weeks ago) dismantled before moving to a new home. Factoring in that this interview happened at least two weeks ago, an announcement could really happen any time in the next week or two.
