Yeah I kinda agree about the phrasing in A Visious Kind being weird.

Also View From Heaven is easily one of their best songs, I can't be the only one who thinks that right?

View from Heaven is an EASY least favorite on Ocean Avenue. I'd cut that and Empty Apartment then the record's pretty close to perfect

 

I fucking love Rivertown Blues. That guitar solo rips and the way the chorus comes back in at half tempo afterwards....fuck

Rivertown Blues is great, and so is View From Heaven.

 

I thought it went without saying that Here I Am Alive and Southern Air are the worst songs on that album. Actually, the only 2 not-excellent ones. A Vicious Kind and Rivertown make that album for me, such hard hitting songs.

 

I can understand an argument for Here I Am Alive but the title track is one of their best songs period

 

The way that song ends is blistering as all hell and fucking rules. What a way to finish an album.

 

Yeah, actually pretty similar to the song Paper Walls in that regard. Those are my two favorite closes, though Back Home is also very good.

 

Yeah Paper Walls and Southern Air are top tier YC songs

 

I love Rivertown a lot. I love Southern Air a lot.
Here I Am Alive is an incredible song. Should have dominated pop radio.

What?! That's like my favorite song form the album besides telescope. It might be my favorite album opener from them too. Rivertown Blues is my least favorite on the album by far.

 

Wow Empty Apartment is also one of my favorites, maybe their best bridge.

I don't know if I can pick a favorite, but Miles Apart is up there. I'd probably have to choose between that, title track, and One Year Six Months.

 

Telescope and Southern Air are my favorites off of SA. My least favorite is probably Vicious Kind, but I'm not entirely sure.

 

Kind of suprised that a lot of people don't like Vicious Kind. I love it.
