I absolutely adore this! This version of You and Me and One Spotlight might honestly surpass the original for me. So, so good.

 

This is fantastic and everything I hoped it would be. At parts I was expecting Ryan to fall into Jónsi's hopelandic style of singing. What's that "stomping/marching" sound effect that is throughout Southern Air? A box drum? It again reminds me so much of Sigur Rós.

 

I was not aware of this release at all! What an incredible surprise, I’m loving it.

I would like to formally apologize to Waiting Game for not fully appreciating its greatness before. I've always liked the song but something about this version really opened my eyes to it. That bridge is incredible, and the AHS version has really grabbed me.

 

Waiting Game and Grey were always my favorite from that record

 

Waiting Game —> Martin Sheen —> Space Travel —> Grey is one of the best runs in their discography

 

I basically always felt this way about those songs, but recently Space Travel in particular has catapulted itself into my favorite YC songs

Really into this new project, so happy they've paid so much attention to how lush it sounds, love the lo-fi bits too and the shimmering tones, also glad to rediscover some of the songs!

In a recent video announcing that handwritten lyrics are available for March only, Ryan said:

“This will be the only time I do handwritten lyrics this year. Yellowcard is getting very busy - we’re going to be announcing something very cool, very soon that’s going to prevent me from doing my normal holiday-time lyrics..”

Man, I still can’t get over “Hiding in the Light”. What an absolute banger of a song. In my rotation since it came out and not going anywhere soon.

Tuesday AM thoughts: I think the moment at 2:50 in the original "Waiting Game" when the full orchestra comes in has to be one of my favorite moments in their entire discography.

Anyone know how long the handwritten lyric sheets take to get mailed out? I know orders were only being taken through March, but Im curious of an estimated delivery timeframe.
