Knowing the electronic sounds they explored on Lift A Sail and where Ryan went through his solo stuff, it'd be cool to see them collab with musicians that lean closer to electronica, ambient or trip-hop instead. I'm not going to pretend I'm very familiar with Steve Aoki but everything I've heard from his music reminds me of the kind of festival ready electro house that never appealed to me.
Also I've just learned Steve was in skramz bands waaaay before he switched to electronic music, so he has closer ties to the scene than I thought lol edit: Steve Aoki I mean
I liked that one song Steve Aoki did with Linkin Park and I think everything else he's touched has been hot garbage.
Did anyone get a mailing list email yet? I thought I signed up, but nothing yet. Local radio station apparently already announced it.
God DAMN! Bring me back to life… I don’t follow GMA so is this just a performance or could it come with some news too…?
Especially given their love for TEB that they've publicly spoken on in the past. 6 months removed from an insanely successful reunion tour they're now touring the country with TEB in amphitheaters, playing on Good Morning America, and seemingly more to come that we don't know about yet. What a time to be a Yellowcard fan
I'm very happy that they're seeing so much success now, but I'm incredibly bummed at how expensive the tickets for these 3EB shows are. $400 for a pit ticket is insane
Update, I think you’re on to something “On Thursday, January 11 catch a special live performance and interview with Yellowcard on “Good Morning America” on ABC.”
I was popping into the discord and their mod pretty much confirmed some kind of announcement is happening to coincide with it. Sure sounds like new music to me! (LFG!)
Not sure if it interests anyone here but the Hopeless store has Southern Air CDs signed for 10 dollars.
Everytime I see Third Eye Blind now I just remember Zach from Jimmy Eat World teeing off on them when those two bands toured together.
Sucks that the tour isn’t coming to Portland. Can’t justify the cost of traveling given that YC will only play 50-60 min and TEB was terrible when I saw them 10 years ago. I love the band, but Stephen was the most annoying frontman I’ve ever seen live. Gimme a YC headlining off date in the three day gap between Nampa and Seattle.
Yellowcard & Hammock - A Hopeful Sign Release date: February 9, 2024 Track listing: 1. Empty Street 2. Southern Air 3. Ocean Avenue (Release date: January 12, 2024) 4. Telescope 5. You And Me And One Spotlight 6. Waiting Game 7. Only One 8. A Place We Set Afire 9. Transmission Home
I’ve accepted all these scene adjacent shows going into the amps at this point but to do a seated pit is so annoying lol
“That’s right folks, Paper Walls is now being repressed. And now here’s Yellowcard to take it away with their favorite song, Miles Apart” ….I have no clue what this is but i’m assuming this is one of the things they’re announcing soon?
