Finally got around to doing a play-through. That drum intro on Three Minutes More is so good. I would love to see Nate Young do more studio drumming with contemporary bands he came up with. The Hiding in the Light guitar/violin combo solo almost gets into some hair metal riffing in a really surprising and fun way. This is one of the better returns from hiatus releases I have heard.
Anybody know what set times have been like this tour? Busy night but I want to try and get down to see all the sets I can.
Ryan was in Craigs Brother...like 25 years ago. i guess its conceivable the song was written about him, and the lyrics would kind of point towards that... but he was in the band for like 6 months (this was like before Ryan joined Yellowcard) and I dont think there was any kind of animosity in him leaving the band.
That’s literally the band’s reasoning for no longer playing many/any pre-OA songs live. I love it and wish they would play more OFTK/Underdog songs but the sad fact is most people that go see them now don’t know those records.
Aug 12, 2002 was my first time seeing Yellowcard. I can't believe it's been almost exactly 21 years, haha damn. Yellowcard, Sugarcult, and Less Than Jake. LTJ headlined. I remember YC playing "Starstruck" and I was in love after that.
I mean, I saw the tour, so I’m glad. Like, with it ending, it means whatever they have planned next can begin. Bring on what’s next! I’m pumped they’re back.
Totally agree, was really just saying I enjoyed the tour itself and the shows were all really awesome, sad it's over but pumped for what's to come.
I keep reminding myself that they're already working on new music and getting stoked. Hoping the next release is a full-length.
I caught Covid and had to miss the Seattle date. I’m so bummed I couldn’t go, but still so excited they’re back so I’ll have more chances
Can 100% confirm playing anything pre Ocean Ave absolutely kills the crowd, every single time. The very very very small amount of people who know the songs are super stoked, but that percentage of the total crowd is incredibly low.
