I basically had to relearn how to sing after the surgery but I finally got serious about taking lessons and doing it properly. Thank you for the kind words.
My favorite ones haha People wanting you to invite up members who were kicked out on stage is so so weird. And I guess it’s true about nostalgia. I am very nostalgic for Childhood Eyes already haha In all seriousness, Saturday was incredible. I had a three hour drive home and was just processing singing all those songs and what they mean to me, how they have been entwined with various times in my life, and how it all connects to who I am now. I was able to put words to some feelings I’ve had for a long time for the first time. Life has always made more sense to me through music. It came through once again. Thank you.
Went to the show in Tampa last night, all of the bands were great. I felt bad for the Emo Night guy because no one was really paying attention. He kept thanking the front row because they were the only ones really doing anything. It was awkward. It was my 6th time seeing Yellowcard and they sounded so good, the show was just an overall fun time. One of my favorite concerts of the year for sure.
It must be fuckin wild to be told you’re not from somewhere you verifiably are for 20+ years lol People from Jacksonville still saying this goofy shit 25 years later or whatever because the sound of the band changed is so strange to me lol
Was looking at getting tickets to one of the shows coming to my area, but do they really not play even one song from One for the Kids?
The funniest part to me is comments about the "original lineup." Oh yeah bud, you want the Midget Tossing lineup? Really? Ok sure
They do not and obviously the members that post here can speak on it themselves but they’ve been very vocal in the past about how much it kills the crowd when they play them so I wouldn’t count on it (as much as that still bums me out lol)
@williamryankey i read the People’s article and saw you and your wife are expecting your first child- just wanna say a big time congrats to you and yours dude! I’m becoming a father myself in about a month myself and can’t wait! Wishing you guys the best.
Okay, I haven’t given my disclaimer for my videos in awhile. But since people from the actual band will see me post it, I feel obligated to haha! Last year I realized, after taking basically no videos at shows for a few years, that I missed having videos from shows. I decided to start taking more video, but I refused to watch through a screen for all that time. I chose to basically keep it on a wide shot and would hold it up either next to my head or even on my forehead so it would basically capture what I was seeing. On occasion I’ll zoom in on something cool or noteworthy. otherwise I’m just jamming out, singing mostly decently, and not paying attention to my phone. The videos are my enjoyment as I think back to the shows, but I figured I’d post them on my YouTube for those who don’t get to make it to a show. with that said, you can find Way Away below. I also have Lights and Sounds, Believe, Empty Apartment, Childhood Eyes, Awakening, Back Home, With You Around, Only One, and Ocean Avenue on my channel. Also, you can find the Page Avenue songs for Story of the Year and Jamie All Over from Mayday Parade.
This new EP is so good that it deserves a part II. I can’t get over how amazing this whole thing sounds. Those thick, clear, guitar riffs might be my favorite thing on this (I’m a guitar player). But every instrument sounds fantastic and has room to breathe on this thing. They did great!!! Also, the dueling guitar/violin solo in Hiding In The Light….it isn’t even fair how great it is given how long they’ve been out of the game. It just PROVES these guys still belong together and should continue to be a band again. That shit is magical. You don’t hear stuff like it! Goddamn, YC!
Listening to Hiding in the Light again, and I almost want to cry lol. It brings me such indescribable joy for a band I’ve loved for so long to release music after all this time that I can enjoy as much as my favorite material by them.
Sean makes me want to pick up a violin again Growing up as a kid whose parents "forced" him into the un-cool violin, YC and Sean always meant so much to me.
I remember introducing my good friend to YC (Light and Sounds era). He played classical Violin at the time/growing up. Him being introduced to Sean’s playing was like me hearing Tom DeLonge and Brian Baker on guitar for the first. Awhile after, I remember him telling me how YC changed the way he played violin.
Kind of random but I heard this song recently and is it about Yellowcard?? Because he says "Yellow card(board)" and something about Lights and Sound. And wasn't Ryan in this band way back in the day?
I have not stopped listening to this EP all week, specifically "Hiding in the Light". This thing rules
