TSL is in Atlanta today and I’m so torn on missing them and Andrew but YC was my first “favorite band” so I guess it’s okay lol
Also can I just say seeing YC in this environment is fucking WILD. The acoustic tour with the Ryan’s and Sean almost got relegated to a smaller venue in Atlanta (from what I heard..either Ryan feel free to dispute that if it’s horse shit!) but this is incredible. So happy for the dudes and I hope this shit keeps up so they stay around forever. Long Live Yellowcard.
And it’s a perfect summer night. The storm brought in some cooler air and it’s not super muggy. I feel a constant breeze and it just feels great. The cool of night with Yellowcard as the soundtrack? Oh hell yea.
@williamryankey thanks for not wearing a guitar during childhood eyes and not playing it like a country bro Also fuck you for making me cry in public lol
It’s only been Ryan for a while now like since 2014. Phil switched to bass when Adam left. Then when Adam came back Phil left/got kicked out. They didn’t want to get a 2nd guitarist for whatever reason. Band sounds/works better with 2 imo. I’ve seen them with both and def prefer them with 2 in a live setting
Three Minutes More is killer. Vic's voice goes so well with Ryan's in that song. I almost feel like I'm hearing a third voice or is that Ryan singing in a different key than I used to? "A radio repeating hooks of my own?" is that Ryan? He sounds so good!
Definitely Ryan, and agreed the song fucking rules. The guest vocal works so well and I am in love with the structure… nothing overstays it’s welcome but the main themes are carried (and changed up) throughout. And the chunky palm muted guitar that comes chugging along at 1:50 is epic.
For real! He sounds better than ever. I've loved YC since the early days, but when I saw them back in 05/06 era Ryan's vocals were very mid live. I saw them again in 2011 and was shocked at how good he sounded live. He did not disappoint last weekend in Minneapolis either. He's improved so much vocally over the years.
Totally agreed here, couldn’t believe how good he sounded in ATL this week! Speaking of they have another show tonight?? 4 in a row is quite the grind!
This EP is great. What a delight to get to the chorus of “Hiding In the Light” and get why they did the Trainspotting promo pictures.
@williamryankey how much did having the vocal cord surgery improve your live performances? Did you also take singing lessons? Because from 2006 to 2011 the improvement in your live performance was huge! I remember going to that show back in 2011 and almost being more excited for Every Avenue/Go Radio because I hadn't seen either of them live before. But when you guys came on I was stunned at how awesome you sounded!
If you guys want some real entertainment you should go check the Jacksonville Jaguars post from our show Saturday. The comments are special.
