My friend's brother flew 12 hours just for tonight's show, he had so much fun. Amazing energy as always, i'm so glad I got to also attend the reunion at RF and be part of the band's history.
Tonight’s show was fantastic. I love how the band is so genuinely grateful for this tour (Looking out into the crowd and going, “What the fuck is happening!?!”) and they sounded awesome. Wish the setlist could be so much longer, so many good songs to play! Songs like Life of a Salesman and Awakening absolutely ripped in the pit. Then when they finally played Ocean Ave. the whole place went so insane it was unreal. Phenomenal show. This band has meant so much to me since October Nights and I was thrilled to see them explode with Ocean Ave, then with L&S being the soundtrack of my first love and heartache and fav YC album overall, then with their admiringly consistent output since then, continuing to write new favorite songs of mine! I appreciate this band so much and super happy they’re back. I’ll continue going to the shows singing my heart out! And now sooo freaking excited for new music this week!!
SOTY did make it seem like they would be doing their own thing in the fall which would be nice. Was awesome to see them but would definitely love a longer set. I thought Mayday Parade did awesome as well. "More Like A Crash" is so good live. And speaking of great live songs, With You Around has the perfect energy.
Re: openers, the only This Wild Life song I know is Headfirst but I absolutely love that song and I’m intending to check out more before the show. Anyone have an opinion on where to start?
Usually with openers I make a playlist of songs on their set they are playing and go from there if it’s clicking.
https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/87271/Yellowcard-Childhood-Eyes/ Childhood Eyes review - don't read it if you don't want to see spoilers regarding the individual tracks, but I'll leave you with this: "With Childhood Eyes, Yellowcard’s flame is burning as brightly as ever. Long may it last."
Can't wait to listen to this again. Three Minutes More has been an earworm in my head since the premiere.
I don’t think I ever said it here, but I watched the stream but fell asleep like right before they played the EP. So the other 4 tracks are still totally unknown to me. I’m pumped to jam them in a few days and then see them on Saturday.
5 song EP already getting close to full album number of plays. Talk about perfect summer music timing. Excited for everyone to be able to listen this weekend.
My interest is peaked based on the single. Enjoying these comeback EPs bands have been doing recently.
Flew back to go to the shows in NJ, NYC and Philly with some old friends that had never seen YC before (I grew up there) and had an amazing time, but the energy at The Armory was something special. Really was an amazing show.
