The tour dates for their Australian shows are on their Facebook page. Yay for Brisbane getting the Saturday show
Not too excited for their album, but Only One live on Pepsi Smash is still one of my favorite performances across the board. Whoever did the sound and edits needs to be rewarded.
Not sure...people say he left the band on bad terms but I'm prettttty sure they hung out after he left the band so I don't know.
Definitely seems like they've embraced the new direction they took on LaS. Hopefully I was right on when I said that album would turn out to be a stepping stone to something amazing.
Mendez said there was pizzicato (plucking instead of bowing) involved. As a violinist, I really want to hear that! That's very orchestral. Perhaps another strings/vocals-only song, like MSK?
They said this album would be nothing like Lift a Sail, so I don't think so. Seems more like there are gonna be huge bridges (and intros and outros) like on Gifts & Curses. Since Lift a Sail had the worst bridges on a YC album ever, I think it's gonna be very different. But we'll see.
I always like seeing people mention YC's bridges. I've always thought that was their strongest trait. Also - I like the new song a ton but does anyone else think the vocals sound kinda metallic/robotic? Especially the first verse.
Lift a Sail was pretty good. I liked the first half a lot actually. The second half of the album was a bit slow and didn't stick with me as much. Hoping I enjoy this final album though! 1/1 so far.
Like a ton of stuff, I see it as revisionist history. I don't remember hearing anything negative about that album when it came out and I loved it then and still do now. In the Thrice thread the same thing is going on with Major/Minor.
What makes you think that? I feel the opposite, haha. Don't take this as an insult, I'm just curious.
Could be. I didnt' really follow YC at the time so I have no clue. I remember ppl being hard on Major/Minor AND Beggars.
Yellowcard has been posting Warped Tour stuff on snapchat. I've been to a ton of their shows and this is my 1st time ever seeing a YC circle pit. Lol
i know other people don't feel the same way and i don't really care honestly. revisiting lights and sounds and it was such an important album to me at a really bad place in my life and also v formative for me musically i think. sad i'll never get to hear some of the songs on it live.
Only me who loves "Lift a Sail"? particularly "Illuminate" and "California", some of their best work.
Lights and sounds is quality, contains two of my all time favourite songs, City of Devils and How i Go.
