As a fan of the band who doesn’t follow their socials and was at the show it did feel a little bait and switch to me. Not saying I wouldn’t ever see them, but I wouldn’t see them on a Tuesday night when I have to go to work tomorrow. The way the tour was billed made it seem like I’m missing a once in a lifetime thing. Great show but reminded me of Sum 41 and Simple Plan where I went to the show with the same expectation. Just my thoughts as a guy there tonight. Great show regardless!
A nice reminder that no matter how awesome something is, there will always be someone complaining about something dumb that we’re probably better off just ignoring completely
I genuinely can’t even begin to understand why a band can’t celebrate 20 years of an album and not play it in full without it being a “bait and switch.” Silly, silly stuff
Just wanna say, with how incredible they sound, it doesn’t matter that they’re playing 8/13 OA…. And for me I don’t think I got to see a lot of paper walls through southern air songs live for whatever reason, so it was amazing hearing those tonight. Incredible show, and Ryan’s vocals have NEVER been better live.
I wish they called it "Celebrating Midget Tossing, Childhood Eyes and Everything in Between" because then they would have been forced to play their entire discography every night
I thought the setlist was killer tonight. As always, would have loved to have a song or two from self-titled or LAS, but I had a fantastic time screaming along to this band again. Can't wait for them to come back to Philly!
Seeing these guys on Thursday, somehow for the first time ever. Which is pretty wild considering I’ve been a big fan since Underdog. Just never worked out before. Can’t wait!
Also @williamryankey how much do I have to venmo you to play Avondale on Thursday (I’m Canadian and we don’t actually have venmo up here so this is an empty offer but pretty plz)
Sum 41 did say they were and then changed it at some point early on. I don’t think Simple Plan did though.
ah didn't see that! i saw the tour when it meshed with so what fest, and it was both greatest hits sets. both bands killed it! excited to see em both again next month with the offspring \m/
You are in for a goddamned treat, what a great fucking show. Ryan polled the audience and there was a large number of first timers there(which is amazing for them), get ready to have your face melted!!
I just realized their first hiatus was only 2.5 years. That felt so much longer to high school me then the second hiatus.
Yellowcard was always my favorite band and I just started going to shows in 2008/2009 so I just missed them. I remember religiously checking their wikipedia for reunion updates before I knew about absolutepunk
