What are everyone's favorite YC guitar riffs? I think the intro riff in Cut Me, Mick has to be my favorite of there's. It's really fun to play on guitar as well. And the ending when the bass plays it is really cool.
I agree, that's also my favorite. Favorite riffs for every album: OA: Back Home (I know, mostly chords with some extensions, but it still sounds amazing) L&S: Sure Thing Falling PW: Cut Me, Mick WYTTSY: The Sound Of You And Me (or probably the intro lead guitar of Be The Young) SA: Surface Of The Sun LAS: Illuminate I also dig the riff of Rest In Peace. Neatly layered with some piano. Ryan Mendez knows how to shred.
I love when the power chords kick in under the riff in the bridge of Sure Thing Falling. I always rock out hard to that part haha
I know I've been posting in here a ton. But I just haven't been able to stop listening to Yellowcard since the announcement. And in that time I think Paper Walls has become my favorite album of theirs. It's just so good front to back. Dear Bobbie is a little cheesy but I still like it and the message. The lyrics on this album are fantastic and the music is just as good. I just played through a bunch of the songs on guitar and it made me re-appreciate how great it is. Also, I know Lights and Sounds gets a lot of hate, but I listened to it on a drive home the other day and I still really like it. The music on that album is really creative and a lot different than most of YC's other music. And honestly I like Ryan's voice a lot on that album. In closing, Yellowcard might now be my favorite band of all time and I'm going to miss them so much.
I'm sad cuz I still can't seem to get into When You're Through... There's some songs I like on there, like the saccharine "With You Around", but the record as a whole loses me. Paper Walls is my favorite from the band. Southern Air and Lift A Sail are solid too, but I have to be in a specific mood to enjoy them, while I enjoy PW any time ever.
WYTTSY doesn't hold up very well. Love The Sound of You and Me and With You Around, the rest is meh Makes sense as the One for the Kids of the second half of their career

Be The Young and Life of Leaving Home are stand out tracks too! They also fit into the favorite guitar parts question.
Absolutely, I love the whole album lol. For people who it didn't stick with, I was recommending giving those songs a second chance.
If anyone in here would be interested in covering a track for a Yellowcard tribute album next month, go here to get all the info!
I bought my ticket to the Detroit show. Knock on wood that nothing serious happens between now and then that will prevent me from going. I'm nervous about leaving Canada.
ticket spin website finally working again and was able to purchase VIP for their last show, in orlando. Packages were sold out so I had to buy the ticket and VIP upgrade separately. GOODBYE MONEY I hardly knew ye.
