"Illuminate" through "Lift a Sail" might be my favorite run of songs in the whole discography.

 

I listened to Lift a Sail a lot in college, especially on days where I felt pretty down so I grew and remain pretty fond of it.

 

This comp (including vol. 1) got me into a lot of the bands I love today. I discovered Yellowcard and Alkaline Trio for the first time.

Awakening is the most kick ass opener of the openers.

 

The Takedown though

 

Very close for me. But gotta give it to Awakening solely because of that quick four-on-the-floor on the first part of the outro chorus. Can never get enough of it.

 

Totally fair, could see arguments for both! The Takedown is probably the top spot for me, the energy on that song is just ridiculous. I’d probably slide them in like this
