Not as familiar with the post-hiatus stuff as I should be (mega fan from 03 for a few years) but I just listened to a YC Spotify mix and What Appears from the self titled just came on and this is an unbelievably good track. That bridge and outro are so huge.
I could see it being.... single - Jimmy Eat World kinda thing, "we're going to release singles as we make them, no set structure" EP - Ryan's solo stuff came in the form of EPs, maybe they don't have a ton of new songs yet album - they started making an album right when they reunited and now it's ready to go
I'd be interested to hear what a Yellowcard EP would be like in 2023 given that they haven't really released one with all new songs since Underdog.
The fact that we are talking about hearing new Yellowcard music in two weeks has me so fucking stoked.
i met LP when he was touring with his post YC band This Legend in 2014 with Lagwagon & Swingin utters. we talked about how YC covered violins for the Rock Against Bush Vol. 2 compilation and how he must be stoked that he was on tour with lagwagon. he straight up said yellowcard wouldn't exist if it wasn't for lagwagon that always made me happy to know if you can find this comp, there's a buncha other awesome covers and originals on it. it came out in 2004. tracklisting: Rock Against Bush, Vol. 2 - Wikipedia
I met Yellowcard at Warped Tour in 2001 at a table where they were signing a bunch of these compilation CDs. I still have it.
watching Hard Rock Live 2003 on youtube rn and…I’m so glad they are back whatever it’ll sound like I’ll eat it all haha
Brilliant, this is the first option that actually makes some sense to me. I was trying to think of possibilities earlier and came up empty
Do we think they’re going to come out of the gate with a faster/uptempo/“pop punk” song, or something more mid-tempo similar to their last few? I personally have no idea, but lean a bit towards the latter of the two.
