FYI, their Instagram story has a link to their mailing list titled "Choose Your Future..." Would recommend signing up for that just in case
Now I REALLY can't wait to see what Yellowcard sounds like in 2023. This is going to be an absolute banger of a summer for music
Pretty sure Like Torches is just Ryan Key hidden behind the band from bigger part haha….I’ve no doubts about Yellowcard still having ability producing some fast pop punk bangers. (no offense to Like Torches,I love the band,I just can’t not to hear Yellowcard influences)
It’s been 17 years and I still don’t understand how Lights and Sounds isn’t widely loved. There’s so many great songs on that album…Sure Thing Falling, Martin Sheen or JFK, Space Travel, How I Go, Words, Hands, Hearts. Holly Wood Died is one of the band’s best songs by a wide margin. The album is like the moodier, darker, more orchestral cousin of Ocean Avenue. I’ve heard it said that people don’t like Ryan’s vocals on L&S and that he was sick while recording it but I have honestly never been able to hear that. I think he sounds great on it. I can understand to some extent why the album might not have been what the casual listener was expecting or hoping for after OA, but I have not and will never understand how it isn’t more popular among their fans.
I can only speak for myself, but I just simply don't think the songs on the album are very good, haha. That's where I'm at
Admittedly as a huge YC fan I hadn't really gotten around to that album until last year and it became the soundtrack to my summer hah. Love that album.
It took a bit to grow on me back in the day but once it clicked, it became one of all-time favorites. It is a bit melancholy though so I have to be in the mood for it.
Another huge fan of Lights and Sounds reporting in. My favorite of their albums, with Paper Walls as a close second.
I mean the songs has the same title as the lyrics made up by chatGPT a few pages ago so either it’s fake or chatGPT somehow knew about a song that hadn’t even been announced yet
