I'm curious what their sound would be if they made new music. Back to pop punk, or a continuation of LAS/Self Titled
I'd love to hear them expand on the Paper Walls sound with some newer elements like you alluded to - similar to how Southern Air was like a more mature/grown up Ocean Avenue. Also...loved the hints of the sound they were moving towards in "I'm A Wrecking Ball" and "Fields and Fences". Let's be real though, a single note of music from these guys is going to be the highlight of the summer for me. If you asked me a year ago today whether or not I thought we'd ever hear new music from this band I would've bet the house on the fact that we wouldn't and probably laughed at the suggestion.
I'd take an entire album of songs in the vein of "I'm a Wrecking Ball" and "Fields and Fences." We got a little of that in Ryan's solo EPs, but bringing the full band back into that style would be a dream.
Saaaaaame. Although I don't think they'd come out of the gate with an acoustic/country twang ballad as their first song since 2016 If this is happening I expect a ripper as a single and I cannot wait to hear it and listen to it all summer long Can't believe we're even discussing this tbh
I’m pretty fully convinced this is happening btw. Feeling a certain vibe, as the kids are saying these days
Yeah, could also just be them supporting WRK. Mostly just poking around in between calls at work and having fun. I'm sure we'll hear a lot more soon
S/T was a mix of Lift A Sail with a bit more pop-punk sprinkled in. I could see them continue in that direction. I really want them to lean on the acoustic and electronic sounds they implemented on both. They were onto something and I'm sure there's still untapped potential creatively.
Lift a Sail ruled when it came out and still rules now. Some of the most emotionally wrenching music they ever made.
