Paper Walls is desperately in need of a reprint this year after Ocean Avenue and Lights and Sounds got the treatment in 2021 and 2022.
They also pressed a ridiculous amount of that OFTK remaster. They gotta get clearanced out eventually. Even the old OFTK pressing was like $5 at Hot Topic a decade ago.
Yeah, it was expensive but I've just noticed vinyl prices in general creeping up. It's hard when some of these records are so difficult to find in general.
Also preordered the new Touche Amore pressings recently and they were $25 each, so it's still possible. I think there's just a lot of hype around the YC return right now.
I know this song became “Awakening”, but man does this original demo version still rip - specifically the bridge.
Help! My wife and I planned to take the kids to the CO show, but we found out the school year is getting bumped up this year, and we can’t have my son miss the first week of school. We are pivoting to Phoenix (2nd closest stop to NM), but it looks like the only affordable remaining tickets are in Section 1 and 7, which are off to either side. To anyone who’s gone to a concert at Arizona Financial Theatre, is the view of seats that remain somewhat decent? I don’t expect full view of the stage, but I can hope I can at least see Ryan singing. I can’t afford 4 seats at resale price, or the very few remaining platinum seats in the middle sections. I just want to make sure the view is ok enough to drop this much money on. My wife wants to see them, and this is our shot, so beggars won’t be choosers.
I don’t personally care at all, but it is a little strange to see them play the album in full at a fest during the same timeframe but not play it on the actual anniversary tour lol
I guess. But like I said when they announced that’s what they were doing for When We Were Young, it’s a festival set. Playing their popular album at a festival makes sense. Playing a more standard headlining set on their headlining tour makes sense. People are there for Yellowcard at those shows. A festival will draw all kinds Of fans who maybe only know Ocean Avenue.
I guess. I don’t really disagree at all with what you’re saying, but I’d probably argue the opposite. I would think it’s more likely people at a fest would know singles from other records more than the deep cuts off Ocean Avenue, whereas a good percentage of people going to a 20 year tour probably know the bulk of the record. Either way, I’m good with whatever. I’m just happy this band are back playing shows. Gonna be a lot of fun
I feel this logic works in reverse, headline shows will feature hardcore fans who want to hear the album's deep cuts, festival shows will feature a more general audience who know one or two songs but might check the band out. I think it's more a marketing thing that putting Ocean Avenue on the poster will help drive sales to a festival. I could just be saying that as someone who would rather see a general Yellowcard show than an OA show though.
there aren’t any bad seats at the Financial Theater! I’ve sat in the side sections for a few shows and have always had a very solid view.
There’s an electric version of Rough Draft. Pretty sure Firewater is just as is, but my brain is old. I could be wrong.
I have all of the original versions saved on my old computer, but there's also a playlist on YouTube right here:
