Lights and Sounds in particular has grown on me steadily every year since it released. Waiting Game —> Martin Sheen or JFK —> Space Travel —> Grey in particular is such a ridiculous run of songs. I love that record.
Might be a weird observation but there are a lot of incredible bridges on that album. "I could sleep, but when I wake here you'd still be gone" in Martin Sheen, "He could take you all the way to church this time" in Sure Thing Falling, and "One of you moves, the others follow you" in Down on My head are all incredible lines to me. The little down-chorus before the end of Space Travel is so cool too.
I think the general sale hasn't happened yet so you should still have an opportunity tomorrow. Not sure if the dynamic pricing has driven the cost up at this point though.
Got floor tickets to Dallas this morning! Had internet issues yesterday and thought I had missed out.
NYC is sold out completely from the looks of it outside of vip. i dont think there was anything available today when todays presales happened
Yeah with today's presale the only tickets available were the VIP packages. I think all the GA tickets are gone. Also hoping a second date added will have less demand and thus no ridiculous dynamic pricing lol
Not weird at all, I have always loved that about this record. The sequencing is perfect, too. But the bridges really do stand out. I think the bridge and orchestral arrangements on City of Devils may be one of my favorites in their catalog…”What if I wanted you here right now?”
Doesn't look like there are any gaps for a 2nd NYC date. Is Stone Pony SS sold out? If that's significantly cheaper could be an option (Though you gotta account for train fare).
The tour selling as well as it has is so cool. I've spoken about this in here before, but the last time I saw them was on the back end of the Lift A Sail run in Portland, ME on a Monday night in April during an absolutely brutal rain storm. There were probably 250-300 people there. max. They still absolutely killed it, but I felt so bad. Took me almost 3 hours to get home that night, on what is normally an hour and ten minute drive. Still worth it.
In the discord it was mentioned that there are some general admission tickets held for the general sale tomorrow. So check that out when it goes up!
Ah dang I didnt even look at the tour routing. Guess the only other hope is they upgrade the venue to somewhere bigger like Central Park Summerstage. Thrice did that for their show (went from BK Steel to Terminal 5), but since Summer Stage isnt a live nation venue I doubt it'll happen.
I’m actually not even sure what the upgraded venue would be for NYC in that case. Is the next level up going to Jones Beach/PNC Bank Arts Center? Maybe they’d just consider adding a date if it gets that crazy. Who knows.
JB/PNC would be WAY too big a jump in size. Plus neither of those are in NYC. Summer Stage makes sense as it would be a slight jump in capacity (from Pier17's 3.5k to Summerstage's 5k), but I think Live Nation would rather keep it at a venue they owned. There's also the Live Nation owned Coney Island Ampitheater (6,000 capacity) but god that would be such a pain in the ass lol
Live Nation does shows a Summerstage so it's possible BUT I suspect doing shows are Summerstage is far less profitable since you are essentially renting out city property so I imagine there are more costs for them. Pier 17 is, I believe, a space they own so more money to be made selling $13 Heineken cans.
My buddy just scored us Chicago tickets! Last time we saw them was Warped Tour 2016. I'm stoked to see them back at it.
Anyone remember the MTV show Ryan was a guest on back during the Lights and Sounds era? I think he was a vocal coach or coaching someone during the episode.
