I hope Tucker is playing on the tour farewell tour, but I don't know what Thursday has up their sleeve. I'm probably in the minority but I don't really like the dude from Anberlin.
IIRC one of the guys from YC said on Twitter or Instagram that Tucker wasn't playing with them anymore because marriage.
I had a feeling this announcement would come after hearing Jason's podcast. Still tore me apart though. And to see that the farewell tour isn't touching Canada or certain parts of the US upset me as well. Four shows in Texas but none in Ohio? I've never been to the US but apparently I have no choice if I want to say goodbye to The band that helped shape my life. Unless someone has heard a rumour that more dates will be announced? Anyone? Please?
Still so hard to process. Damn. But on the bright side friends, they left us a hell of a great catalog to enjoy
I think what i will kiss the most are the live shows and the excitement over new music. What this band brought me, in terms of both of those things, will be a great memory I will have for the rest of my life.
The live show is spectacular for sure. I remember seeing them at Warped my first time going and being like "whoa they have a violin wtf?"
The first time I saw them was when they were doing the Ocean Ave acoustic tour at Starland Ballroom. It was awesome to hear the album front to back in an intimate setting. Then once they started the electric part of the set with the song Paper Walls, I lost my shit. Arguably my favorite concert ever.
I remember watching them and thinking "wow, that vocalist can fucking sing but the way he plays/holds his guitar is weird" lol. I need to catch one of these last tour dates. I'd kill to watch them play PW or SA front to back
Really sad and kinda suprised about this. Worst break-up experience along with MCS as a fan... After the hiatus, due to how fast they have been producing new music and how stoked they seem about it, I expected them to go on forever. I guess it's up to New Found Glory to be the Bad Religion of this generation... I don't think I'll fully process the fact they are over until the album is out. That's when the anticipation of new YC will cease to exist. Excited as hell nonetheless. Particularly about the two long songs.
I love it too (except for "Dear Bobbie"), but I think the second part of Yellowcard's career is their peak (probably not a popular opinion). WYTTSY, Southern Air and Lift A Sail > Ocean Avenue, Lights And Sounds and Paper Walls. (One For The Kids is mostly forgettable; I wanted to do three vs three)
Paper Walls and Southern Air are their best two albums, in my opinion. So I don't think you can really compare the first half of their career to the second half as neither of these two albums could've come to fruition without the break in-between, if that makes sense.
I saw somewhere that apparently their Warped shirts say 1997-2017 so I could see them announcing a final final run in America early-mid next year and then being done. It would be kind of weird if their final show was in England
Fuck, I never thought about it like that. I've always highly anticipated their records, guess this will be the last time It's gonna be really hard to listen to this one knowing it'll be their last. This sucks! One of the most consistently perfect bands I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Such a solid discography. Still hoping Bombers gets released in FLAC at some point in the future. One of their best songs (imo) and it was an iTunes exclusive AAC file
Seems like the final shows are in Australia and Asia, but I would guess they'd do a final night in their hometown or so.
I saw them play Ocean Avenue in full recently and saw them support Less Than Jake in 2004 shortly after that album came out, so it feels like a nice way to send them off coming full circle. Seen them a few times in between too but will still be sad to see them go all the same.
Total wishful thinking but it would be amazing if in 2017 their final shows were each album in full. I know that would never happen, I just really wanna hear Paper Walls in full ok.
Absolutely gutted Only seen them once last year in Leeds, but they were co headlining with Less than Jake so naturally only did an hours setlist. Considering doing Manchester in December, hopefully its not a co headline tour, but it depends on £££
