My first Yellowcard show was August 12, 2002 opening for Less Than Jake and Sugarcult.

 

That’s such a great bill

 

First show was YC/SoCo/The Format/I forget the first opener. Something with sleep in the name, not ‘Armor for’. Hadn’t heard of SoCo or The Format at the time but they became 2 of my favorite bands shortly thereafter.

I remember thinking how cool Andrew’s North wrapped piano was lol

It’s very cool to see them gaining more of a presence on social media ahead of Riot Fest. I’ve started to see them pop up all over in the last couple of weeks.

Not really newsworthy, but I love hearing the song “Ocean Avenue” to hype up fans in the Skydome right before the Jays played at home vs the Orioles

 

2004 I believe with the starting line and the matches opening

 

Nothing like the ocean song to pump up the base ball club

 

Exactly one month until Yellowcard’s first live show in 5 1/2 years.

 

Yellowcard is closing the Rise stage at Riot Fest from 8:30-9:45. It looks like Ryan is also playing a late night DJ set after the show for Emo Night Brooklyn:

Now do we think this is a one off type thing or are they testing the waters for more of a come back…

 

Could an option be where maybe they tour every so often but don’t put out new music?

 

I’m thinking that’s the most likely route, but I gotta be honest i’m mostly just grateful they’re back. It’s so good to know these guys are sharing the stage together again. Such a huge part of my life, and i’m sure so many other peoples as well. Hopefully they are happy and feel the love next weekend.

 

I am selfish and want new music, but if they at least go The Starting Line route i’d be happy. As long as they’re happy though.

 

Wondering if they’ll have any merch at Riot Fest. I am ready to empty my wallet.
