I’ve been told many times that no one should have it.

Man it would be sweet if that somehow found its way onto the internet

I didn't know how far they got with the Patrick Stump version actually, I found out a lot more on this replay. What a bummer.

I remember reading on here a little while ago that Stump just sings Cassadee Pope’s part, which is just backing vocals right? Did he actually sing a verse or something? Does anyone even know? If not it would probably be pretty disappointing in that it wouldn’t sound that different.

Edit: my bad, it was Taylor Jardine, not Cassadee Pope.

Patrick was a co-writer on the song and hearing two vocalists from bands you like do a song together is cool. Think Justin Pierre of MCS with Fall Out Boy. The Tay version is also great.

Because it exists and it was label interference, it sucks that it wasn’t released.

I’ve said that for years and people attacked me for saying it. I’m with you, if the guys who made the song wanna leak it, leak it, or whatever you want to call it.

Lol I’m mostly joking. I do remember you getting heat for that as well.

Yep. Lame. The song is made, another version came out and if the label didn’t want it then why people side with the label is beyond me. It was more like a demo.

Tons of bands have had demos leak and people were all about it and shared them. Seems hypocritical to now be like “don’t leak demos”. Taking Back Sunday’s “Follow The Format”, BN leaked demos, The Republic of Wolves demos. Heck, Jimmy Eat World leaked their own demos. Long list. And if the YC guys want fans to hear it, have at it.

I’d rather have new YC though. Hoping touring triggers something.

I mean, they could get into a lot of trouble for leaking it so I understand why they don’t. Didn’t it have something to do with Stump being signed to another label or something? It makes sense and if it isn’t theirs to leak and they don’t want to get sued, I understand why they don’t want to leak it. But yeah, I’d love to hear it.

  17. Ryan's literally said he doesn't want to leak it. That's where this whole thing started last time when someone posted about that. The band should have the final say, and as of right now, they've decided they don't want it out there.

this same conversation, with K at the helm, just recently happened. We don't need to do it again

Paraphrasing Ryan’s reasoning: during final mastering of the album, they got a call when they were literally putting on the final touches. FOB management said sorry, he can’t be featured on the song anymore. The reasoning likely being FOB’s label was worried it would overshadow “their comeback” while simultaneously being featured on a yellowcard song.

Beauty of a leak is they could mysteriously appear like the others I mentioned hahaha. I have idea who leaked the other demos I mentioned other than Jimmy leaking Jimmy to generate buzz they would have been labeled. And at this point, I don’t see it being a priority for a label if they’d have to root out the source of a leak.

I mean, they did leak it once under the promise that no one on twitch would record it

Yeah but if they don’t want to do it none of that matters lol. You can justify it and come up with the best reasons in the world but if the only people who have the song don’t want to leak it that’s kind of the end of it.

Yes…I am very aware. But the reason they even bother to talk about it and play it in a stream is because they probably know the interest is. Sort of like the Snyder Cut or Manchester Orchestra doing Sinful Math with their Patreon. None of us would have even known it existed unless the artsiest didn’t talk about it.
