On Ryan’s Instagram, he says Pete Mosley is joining him on Twitch tomorrow for a track by track listen through of Lights and Sounds. You bet your ass i’ll be tuning in for that
In the middle of packing for our cross country move and found this. Figured I’d share given the up coming listen through. Friend of mine used to work at a record store and would give me these release posters.
This live stream with Ryan & Pete is so cool already - I have to go out to dinner with family but hoping someone records it!
Update - It does not look like anyone recorded it. Man I hope it turns up one day, it’s not available to rewatch on Ryan’s Twitch
Wish these and Marks stuff was all archived somewhere. So much great content lost to time it seems and I’m always working when they air.
Agreed. Especially since Pete was there just chatting back and forth with Ryan. When I had to log off to go to dinner, they were talking about the string arrangements for Three Flights Up and the details of Capitol Studios. So many cool stories and tidbits.
Couple of cool things - There is a Brendan O'Brien (producer for Pearl Jam, STP, etc) mix of Lights and Sounds (the song) out there. Pete has it. They mentioned potentially getting a hold of that and playing it in the future. - The riff for Lights and Sounds was written in 2002 (ish) - Down On My Head - Sean actually sings backup vocals on the verses (I did not know this before) (Man this song rules) Also one of the first songs they demo'ed for the album That's about as far as I got
I didn’t get to watch this stream but during Ryan’s Ocean Avenue stream he mentioned that it would be available to his Twitch subscribers to rewatch via a channel in his discord, so it is technically recorded somewhere. I would assume this one is the same.
If you sub to his twitch and join his discord (and link your discord to twitch) there is a dropbox link for the Ocean Avenue stream on a sub only channel. Believe they will be doing the same for the L&S steam and the future ones. The L&S stream was great. I love when they call out little details I never noticed and have stories to tell about the recording process.
The Riot Fest announcement a few months ago has turned this into another full-fledged Yellowcard summer for me when it comes to music. I have not stopped listening - specifically Paper Walls, WYTTSY, Southern Air - in like 2 months
It took me a few years, but I've finally come around to the self titled. I feel a little silly for waiting so long to appreciate it, but it dropped during a really bad time in my life and I kept forgetting to go back and give it a listen until very recently.
Missed this one, can't wait for the replay. I remember seeing them at a one-off show in some random warehouse in PA. Sean gave me a copy of the record before it was technically released and I listened to it on the ride home. I was so glad that they were back. This record rips
Does anyone know what happened with the re-imagined Yellowcard songs that Ryan was going to be doing with Hammock?
Ryan mentioned yesterday on stream he hasn't heard from them in a while and they are pretty busy but he hopes they will still be able to do it.
Can't believe we get to see Yellowcard live in less than two months. Got me thinking about what the set list could look like after the Ocean Avenue play through. The album itself is 13 songs with a runtime of a little less than 48:00.
