Pretty sad about the news. Heard rumors last week but it has finally sunk in. Excited for one last show and album. I think I need to do a VIP ticket just to meet these guys and say thanks for all the amazing albums they've put out. Been a fan since I was 14 and grew up with this band. They'll be missed. Had to snag that clear splatter variant asap.
You know how sometimes there's those bands that seem to be opening every show you go to? Like, you never go to see that particular opening band, but they just happen to always be there? That band was Yellowcard for me. I probably saw them 5 or 6 times, and it was never intentional. They're a great band, obviously, I've bought their albums, their DVD, and I've watched their sets at Warped Tour a couple times, intentionally. But yeah, for me, they have been a band that was always just THERE, if that makes sense. Ever since they started headlining their own shows, I've seen them much less often, but I think I'm going to go out to this show. Especially because Dryjacket is opening. I've been wanting to see them for a long time, so this just makes sense. One more final salute to YC. Might as well post my "Ocean Avenue" cover in here, as kind of a send off. I think I know the theme for the next Chorus compilation.......
haha awww thanks man! i recorded it the night before the compilation was released, so it was literally last minute. i'm glad it turned out well enough for you to dig it.
Gonna listen to them the rest of the day. Currently going through Paper Walls. Ugh this album is so good front to back. Date Line just hit me hard with the breakup news. When you hold one chance And you break your hands When the secret's safe And you call my name Then I am gone
Fuck, what a shitty thing to wake up to. Sucks i never got to see them live Also, as far as the song goes, chorus is great, but overall its meh.
Bittersweet. Yellowcard is in that elite company with Jimmy Eat World where almost every song on every album takes me back to a specific place and time. There's a selfish part of me that wishes I could get a new YC album every other year for the rest of my life, but I know the guys are probably ready to relax and spend time with family. Can't wait for the new album and can't wait to see them one last time.
First band calling it quits that genuinely got an emotional response from me. I've loved listening to these guys since I was a kid. I will not miss the NYC date.
Most of the time yea so that's why I went bigger. I just hate big shirts on me so I sometimes push my luck with a medium.
Haha I feel you. It says "slim fit" in the description of the shirt so that was the deciding factor to go larger.
Going to miss this band!! Saw them twice, once on the Lights and Sounds tour when I was 14 in 2005, and then in 2014 for their Ocean Avenue acoustic tour. Next to Anberlin and Cartel they are in my top 3 bands. Love all their discography and am excited for the final album and tour. Hope Australia is on their list of places to visit, specifically Brisbane
Bummer for sure. Kinda saw it coming with the self-titled release and especially the artwork(to me at least). Glad to have had the chance to see them live but both times only at Warped Tour. I'll make sure to be at the Atlanta date. I'm betting Nate Young drums on this tour. (also, surprised the limited to 300 clear splatter LP is still available this late in the day. I went ahead and ordered mine once I saw the announcement well earlier.)
