Southern Air is phenomenal. But I will always ride or die for Paper Walls being their magnum opus

Paper Walls is god tier for me. That three song sequence of You and Me and One Spotlight —> Cut Me, Mick —> Paper Walls is simply unbelievable

I’d put Paper Walls as their best record too (because I realize you have to remove the nostalgia)….but it’s a serious 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D and so on from this band

Paper Walls is my favorite. WYYTSY, SA, and Ocean Ave rotate on my mood in the second spot. Four great albums. Miss them a lot.

I never got to see them live. I once drove out to see them with All Time Low and Fireworks back in 2013 and Ryan was sick so they cancelled. They never came back to western Canada as far as I know.

They played my high school at lunch but the mic wasn't working so it was purely an instrumental show

Lights and Sounds is my favorite, followed by Paper Walls, and then Ocean Avenue. I could never quite get into their other albums

Paper Walls has their best songs for me and is probably my favorite from them, but I think Southern Air is more cohesive as a record. Something about that 10 track number, man.

  10. I never went to a headlining YC show but I bet I’ve seen them 5 or 6 times only because they opened for so many other bands I went to see back in the day.

I wish the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack version of “Gifts and Curses” was available for streaming instead of the acoustic one. Love that damn song!

Hearing the various recent interviews with Ryan, it’s amazing how the band continued to make amazing record after amazing record, before and after a hiatus, factoring in line up changes, inner band conflicts, personal challenges, labels and pressure.

Also, most of the records hold up amazingly well and feel so current due to the time lyrics themes and fantastic production.

Listening to When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes again and realizing what an amazing comeback album this was

It’s a great record, and when you take into account it came off a hiatus you appreciate it even more.

Album has a great energy, picks up right where they left off musically and it felt like they hd something to say/prove in doing the record and not just trying to cash in based on their previous work/brand. The single choice of For You and Your Denial was brilliant.

The Sound of You and Me is such a great opener. It hits every high and low that I love out of Yellowcard.

Never been a big fan of that comeback record, but glad others got a lot out of it. SA was the real comeback record imo

I still really, really like WYTTSY and was obviously over the moon with excitement when it came out. But I don't think it was the album I wanted after Paper Walls (I think the S/T album probably came closest to that) and think SA is the overall better album, so I don't really return to WYTTSY too often. I still have tons of great memories associated with it though. The Sound of You and Me has a case for their best song and For You and Your Denial was such an epic comeback song.

This is something that really sticks with me when I listen to their music these days. It really does sound so good still. The lyrics are so strong, the music is amazing and the production is really fantastic.

Surprised people don’t love WYTTSY, but yeah, SA is pretty awesome too. I think they are both very “Yellowcard” Yellowcard albums.

I still get a smile on my face when I hear the violin solo that Sean shreds in “Always Summer”. Especially as it was recorded around the time he was battling cancer. Just an absolute win.

When it came out, For You and Your Denial felt so triumphant, for a while I felt like it was THE Yellowcard song.

I’ll never forget popping that record into my car and hearing The Sound of You and Me for the first time, such a banger and such a great memory.

They opened up their show with it on their first shows back, too, which was so awesome

Bandsintown gave me a heart attack earlier today when they sent me a notification for “Yellowcard at Rams Head Live”.

It was for Ryan’s appearance at Emo Night Brooklyn at that venue.

Don’t ever do that to me again.

Ocean Ave, Always Summer, and For You and Your Denial are so Yellowcard-y, and I feel like they’d represent the band well to a new listener.

I guess lots of songs could though.
