Ryan has come into this thread and made posts before. Honesty, I believe it’s entirely possible that he’s seen fans talking about wishing we had that version of the song. He could have said no chance, or wish or could, or decided to play it in a live stream. I have been asking the band to leak a song for years (because of potential label issues/lawsuits I know they couldn’t officially release it). I don’t get when I wasn’t called out like the other 10 I brought it up prior. Also, would you really be made if a member of the band shared it online (anonymously) if they wanted to?
I don’t work in the music industry. That is not an assumption. I have worked with famous music industry people (not necessarily people’s music I like) but my love of music is purely as fan and hobby.
Is there still a Plan to release an EP/album of his Patreon stuff or the acoustic versions he was working on or is it all twitch streams now for Ryan? Edit: I was obviously think the same thing as above?
I still think it could've used one last shred-y dual violin/guitar solo to release the tension built up in the bridge (rather than just going to the pre-chorus) but otherwise it is really, really good
Who would’ve thought how awesome violin would of been in a pop punk band? Well I guess besides these guys. But seriously….they really found a way to make the instrument pop and fit in so well.
Well we never had it so nothing lost. Still doesn’t mean I don’t want it though. And really, it’s always fun to hear what bands have vaulted. That MCS song Cooked Ways is awesome and no one knew about it and it was leak or shared by a producer author of a movie. I think it was Twilight or something from that tween genre (it was a twilight sequel). I’m sure you wouldn’t mind hearing the early Blink demos when Matt first joined the band. Sometimes these vaulted tracks are great. Sometimes not. But, they do become a thing of legend. Manchester Orchestra’s Sinful Math. Fan buzz after Andy mention it has kept up interest in hearing that (and some people have).
I wrote leak or shared. Why did you ignore the word shared? By posting the MCS Twitter you are simply proving that they shared the song that had been vaulted. It’s like you’re trying to catch me saying something inaccurate, but by saying leaked or shared I am not wrong because I was not specific. Didn’t the old site “leak” and MCR song once (with permission from the band and possibly label)?
Technically crooked ways "leaked" a day before it got officially announced Motion City Soundtrack • Page 96 • forum.chorus.fm It is extremely important we get this right. So it is "technically correct" that crooked ways was leaked (for 1 day)
Hahaha…thanks. The point was not leak or shared….but it’s the fact that some bands vaulted stuff is pretty awesome. I’d love to see it released. I still think Ryan and Yellowcard and Patrick would like to see their version of the song released but a label blocked it. So if their is no way to make it financially profitable, I can think of another way to release it if they want. The most important part beingbif they want. If they are starting to acknowledge it by playing it in whatever they do in a twitch stream, chances are they don’t want it to go unheard. Don’t get why people are so worried about this song. It’s an old track, a reworked version did get released and the band is no longer is existence. It’s not like when Taking Back Sunday’s Follow The Format was leaked where it can impact future material and earnings.
And thank you! I am not too worried about being right which is why I put leaked or shared. So really you’re the one who knew the most.
I guess for some of us, the desired outcome would be to have the song released somehow. Label permission, leak, however. The Patrick version is like 10 years old. By people taking an interest in hearing the song it sounds like it was played on Ryan’s twitch stream thing. Sadly, the “Release The Snyder Cut” people have given hope to the idea that if you continue to talk about something maybe it’ll happen. The concern of the single impacting FOB’s return doesn’t exist anymore. So if someone who owns the song wanted to pursue releasing the song then I am all for it. Also, so users just like to go after others. Personally, I feel the more positive energy would be better spent on “Release The Patrick Version”. There is a new EP coming soon from WRK so that’s something new to look forward to now instead.
I am talking about music in a music forum. I don’t know what the negative comments are intended to do. Hurt my feelings? Honestly, there are ways to not see my posts if you would like to make that adjustment in your settings. I don’t think I need to apologize for being a Yellowcard fan. No one is arguing here or doing anything remotely wrong. The insults are just multiple posts now. I just don’t get it. I wish you a pleasent day tomorrow and nothing but the best. I’m not buying in to the negativity and I still hope we get to hear this song. And “Here I Am Alive” feels like a nice positive reminder after being in a lockdown world for like 2 years.
