Anonymously leak it. There have been tons of demos and unreleased songs “leaked”. Blink with Miley for example. He’s not the only person who has a copy. I’m sure he and Patrick would love to have it out in the public. You can find alternate means for the unreleased material, but with this track give the fans a gift. It wouldn’t be hard to find a way to release it if you wanted.

The actually album version with Tay is actually great too. I just don’t get a label not wanting a huge pop punk guy like Patrick performing on a song he helped co-wrote. I doubt Hopeless had the issue and it was Island or whatever, but give % of the single sales or something. What a wasted opportunity because YC and Patrick for a song sounds like an idea that is almost to good to believe.

How does a band like transit get a Patrick stump feature but it wasn’t allowed with yellowcard. Makes no sense.

there's certainly a ton of behind the scenes conversations that none of us are privvy to, I'm sure it's a fully and entirely different situation than the Transit feature. Or The Cab, or Gym Class Heroes, or New Found Glory, or (insert any other feature that isn't Yellowcard specific)

  4. My memory is that it wasn't actually "sanctioned" and Rise weren't allowed to promote it as much because of that.

I’ve never heard of Patrick described as a guy with a “rockstar attitude”, but I feel like moments like these are where he could have told the label they weren’t gonna win the argument (because he is/was a hot commodity and not worth a label pissing off or a guest writing/vocal appearance.

There’s something cool about bands helping other bands/artists to make a band more popular or bring some attention to an artist when it is t just purely for profit.

I completely understood the “not wanting to get sued” argument until hearing he played it the other day. At that point he’s already unanonymously leaked it.

Did no one record the stream? Someone must have gotten it.

  8. Do people think they're not releasing the song out of spite? Like ... that they totally could right now with no issues and they're just choosing not to?

No. I’m pretty everyone knows the label (probably Patrick’s) prevented them from putting that version on Southern Air (since I’d bet Hopeless would have loved it unless they had to pay a crazy fee). At this point, with the band being over it is not unreasonable to want “an anonymous source” to leak the song if they still can’t release it and profit off it by normal channels. Ryan obviously wants people to hear it if he wrote the song, redid the the song and years later played it on a stream.

Everyone but 1 label wants this song out there. I can’t why Patrick wouldn’t want this out there. We all know a bunch of stuff leaks without a source.

From what I've gotten the people that recorded it are not posting it and/or are willing to cut out the unreleased tracks. I can't find it or anyone willing to share it.

They talked about this on the stream a few months ago. Basically FOB was about to announce their comeback and the label nixed the Yellowcard feature as a result. That was the gist of it.

  13. Seems like he did find a way to profit off it, by playing it for the livestream and those people so far also all keeping it under wraps.

Lame reasoning. I haven’t really enjoyed a FOB record since Folie (personal taste reasons only) but I still think Patrick’s got a unique voice and think it works well in pop punk (and was great in songs like NFG’s cover of King Of Wishful Thinking). So hearing he co-wrote and recorded a version of that song with YC makes me want it.

Again, still happy with the final album version with Tay.

Well does this open him up to a lawsuit from the labels and band members in some capacity? Maybe, or maybe not since the content they may have been paying for was technically his conversations and not the songs since they technically weren’t receding copies of the songs in downloadable formats.

Either way, saying leak the song version (anyone) doesn’t seem unrealistic. I also didn’t know there was more unreleased YC content

    Not enjoying current FOB?

  18. Nah, I think asking people to leak their music, and especially other people to leak someone else's music, is a douche move. If the artist wants to, they can if and how they want. And if they can't or don't want to, that's their choice.

If the item is not for sale, I have no issues asking. I asked people for Brand New’s demos when they leaked years ago and someone shared them via ap.net. I’m sure lots of people did. I guessing you heard them too? I did however buy them when they became available years later before the news of sexual misconduct came to public attention.

I’ve got now issues asking Ryan to share the song. He could say no if he wanted. He probably wants people to hear it because he’s probably quite proud of that version. Again, I blame the label.

I also asked someone to share the Miley version of Blink’s “Really Wish I Hated You” with me and they did. Again, the item was not for sale. You can call me names if you want, but I still wanna hear the song and that’s the only opportunity I have to do it at this time.

Somehow every K post digs a deeper and deeper hole proving how little they know about the music industry or how it works

I participate in this thread quite often and you are entitled to your opinion too as another huge YC fan. I don’t think the name calling thing this necessary though.

I don’t work in the music industry so that seems reasonable.

Sort of unrelated, but I discovered one of my favourite bands, The Republic of Wolves as a result of a leak too. People should check them out on bandcamp.

ok so maybe stop talking like you do?? You're making so many baseless assumptions with no merit.
