As a long time Yellowcard fan, I totally dig this. Lyrically alone, I'm sold on this record, just by hearing Rest in Piece. There's definitely a hybrid of everything they've done instrumentally in this track, and I like it a lot. Going to be preordering this bad boy tomorrow for sure.
My overall feeling initially is that it's interesting. It makes me really curious in how the rest of the album will sound
The song is just okay. I'm interested in this sound much more than I was with the one they created on Lift a Sail, but I'm still not loving it. It feels a little forced. If the rest of the songs flow a tad easier I could see myself really liking this album.
i've listened too many times to count and I'm still amazed. These lyrics... the guitar solo... This is definitely the "Paper Walls-esque" song that RM mentioned on Twitter
It finally worked for me! I love it. It didn't hook me like Awakening did as far as openers go, but it sounds like it takes all of the good parts of of Lift A Sail and some Paper Walls mixed in, and that's fine with me.
Songs up on Apple Music in the UK, sounds much better than that VK version, unsurprisingly. I love it, Yellowcard are great. I can see LAS haters still hating this, but that's their loss I guess. I think it's great lyrically as well.
I can see why people are let down by the "let down" chorus by not exploding. But at the same time I feel that unexpected decision makes me want to hear it more.
I've gotta catch up on some work tonight and I don't have much to do tomorrow so I'm thinking I'm gonna do a discog listen to prepare for the single being released tomorrow (even though I've already heard it lol)
