Miles Apart has always been one of my favorites

 

Is it a hot take to say that “Here I Am Alive” is my favorite YC song and quite possibly in my top 20 songs of all time?

Depends on who you ask. For me that song falls into the middle 50% and I can probably think of 20 Yellowcard songs that are better right off that bat

 

I guess I could caveat it with me being a very casual YC fan. I heard it out of context on shuffle one day and it hit me pretty hard when I needed it. Plus I love songs about growing up. Carry on :)

 

haha I absolutely adore the song, and find it perfectly placed before Sleep in the Snow on the album. I actually believe its one of their better singles

 

Its not a top 10 song for me, but I love it so much. I was really bummed when YC was touring Southern Air and they had to cut our set short due to venue issues, that was one of the songs they cut.

 

I think SA has the best singles in their discography probably.

 

Appreciate that context. Three recommendations of songs in a similar theme that are (in my opinion) far superior:

Be The Young
Southern Air

 

With You Around should have been the lead single off WYTTSY and it kills me to this day that they didn't push that song harder

 

It's not a fav of mine at all, but I agree for sure because it is a fan favorite, it's a fun sing along track and I'm in the minority of it not being in my top.

One of my favorite things is listening to Cut Me, Mick and Southern Air (the song) in some sort of succession. They both absolutely rip and they are both in the same key
