Definitely wasn’t clean and definitely wasn’t about other musical interests. LP’s dad was really vocal on Facebook at the time that the band did LP wrong and took a lot of shots at them.

Just like with Ben and Warren we’ll probably never get the whole story, just those wild rumors.

I remember LP's dad going ballistic on their FB page and calling Ryan and Sean liars.

I was pretty sad when he left because he was incredibly nice when i met the band at an airport in 2013, but given the band's comments, can accept their reasoning.

I miss this band like crazy and I missed LP their final years. LP not on Lift a Sail is probably my biggest complaint about the album and that is probably my second favorite YC album, right under Paper Walls. It’s really good as is, but it would’ve been cool to see what LP would’ve brought to the table as the bands sound evolved.

    I’m sad now.

I love the exploration and creativity and thought the album was great. But I agree with what you said. He was a huge, huge part of the band and the lack of his talent and affect on the songs was blatantly obvious on that record.

Ocean Avenue is probably the best pop punk album of all time for mine.

The songwriting is still so mature and polished today, it's aged a lot better than many other contemporary classics.

I won't be embarrassed to say it might be my favorite record ever, even though I know there are better records out there

    Favorite song on Ocean Avenue?

I feel like for me it changes every time I listen to the album. But I really love the title track.

    I gotta go with Breathing.

View From Heaven is a close one too.

  16. Truth be told, there are still parts of my hair blown completely back from the first time I heard the full band come in on Way Away

When the album first came out, I would have said probably Only One or Miles Away. The whole album is great though, besides maybe Twenty Three. That one never stuck with me too much, but isn't bad enough for me to skip.

Back Home and it's not even remotely close if you ask me. I also loved the acoustic version of that song so much.

I also like the acoustic version of this song better than the original

From the 10 year acoustic album, Breathing and Back Home are indeed stand outs.

  25. Listening to this album this morning ... it's crazy how well it holds up 15 years later from a "summer pop-punk album with a little something more." It doesn't sound 15 years old.
