Hahaha. That has always annoyed me about the song. I don't hate it overall, I just think it's somewhere in the middle of this album.

 

Also, from the times I've heard you on the Encore podcast I cannot imagine you actually saying these words out loud.

Hahaha I love Back Home so much, but yeah the fact that line is in the song is kinda ridiculous. I assume he pronounces it like that to keep the melody of the song going?

 

It's never bothered me, personally. Stuff like that usually does, but that song just seems so earnest and genuine to me that the pronunciation doesn't stand out much.

It's my favorite song of theirs period. "Ocean Avenue" is my second favorite on the record and then "One Year, Six Months. They're all out, so I really don't care what wins now. I wouldn't vote for any of the remaining songs against my favorites on any other album, save Lights & Sounds.

According to Wikipedia, this woman is who sang the female vocals on View From Heaven Acoustic. Seems super random if true haha
