Love Sleep in the Snow, so solid choice for 1st. I will always argue that Hollywood Died is too low for anyone who doesn't list it in the top 3. The top 20 is really good though, would make a nice setlist. I can tell you really put LaS high on your album rankings. You know you messed up with Be the Young and See My Smiling too low, but nailed that last song. I wonder how many people would list that dead last too.
Sleep in The Smow is a great, great song and solidly in the top 10. But Be The Young and Southern Air are both better songs IMO.
@FTank I just re read and noticed you have Make Me So above Awakening and Rough Landing Holly. Is this real life?
I would have a hard time with ranking all their songs just because, besides Self-Titled, Paper Walls, and Southern Air, I don't feel too strongly about a lot of Yellowcard stuff. All I really know is Lights & Sounds is their worst album (don't really count anything pre-Ocean Avenue) and the aforementioned three are their best
And if you don't think it's a musical masterpiece, how can you still rank Make Me So over it. No comprende.
I really like Make Me So, that's such an underrated song. Probably most underrated in their catalog, while Be the Young is their most overrated. That song is such a dull Closer. City of Devils sucks, dude.
There's always that song in a band's catalog that the fanbase seems to love and I don't like really at all. Be the Young, Dizzy for JEW, A Place for My Head for LP, etc.
I love everything but the chorus for Waiting Game. The intro and bridge are so strong though, it makes the song. How I Go is such a beautiful song. Before this thread I figured everyone would like it a lot.
Man, when that song kicks in it is so powerful with beautiful violin. Then the guitar kicks in with that lead.... that's just in like the first 15 seconds of the song
I love City of Devils. it's such a great song. Super overlooked in their discography. No way Make Me So is better than it.
They made the right move adding it to their setlist for the final tour. If I had been able to make one and they played that and Hollywood Died back to back, I would have lost it.
Speaking of underrated songs, Life of a Salesman, Twentythree, and View from Heaven deserve more love off of Ocean Ave
I'm with you on Salesman and View, but Twentythree can set down at the bottom with Two Weeks from Twenty lol. View from Heaven has such a cool feel and a good sing along song while driving. The violin (sounds like it may be a fiddle) in that song is really good too. Salesman is just a fun fast paced song, pretty cool guitar in it.
Legitimately interested, what about Make Me So do you think is better than City of Devils or Be The Young? I mean I literally cannot think of one thing.
"You dreamt of some better place Some better love or some better name If I ever escape I'm gonna love and give it a name" Might be the only time in history that I cringed listening to a YC song.
