They did so much in that amount of time. Four albums (two of their best), two acoustic albums and none stop touring. They are among the best.
Now they are selling handwritten lyrics because they are so broke and failing that they can't even afford an iced coffee. Sad!
The album continues to grow on me but I still wouldn't rank it high in their discography. Certain songs like the title track and Crash the Gates I would though.
Chad from NFG posted an Instagram vid of him and Ryan Key playing Magic The Gathering earlier today so that's fun.
Was thinking a bit earlier about how Yellowcards progression is quite similar through album cycles. Solid album (OFTK) Great Summer Album (OA) Concept-ish Album (Lights and Sounds) Return to form/maturation of sound (Paper Walls) Solid album (WYTTSY) Great Summer Album (SA) Concept-ish Album (Lift a sail) Return to form/maturation of sound (Yellowcard)
Is the issue with Date Line? The acoustic track that has an old man talking through it? Do not pretend like its crazy that it's the weakest track.
I want to start living I want to be brave I want to find where I belong Cause I still remember The reasons I write Things that i've dreamed for so long
Erase all the pain 'til it's gone I want to heal, I want to feel Like I'm close to something real I want to find something I've wanted all along Somewhere I belong
I need to revisit the self-titled album, not sure why I didn't spend much time with it. Probably just too depressing at the time, haha.
They still have some cool vinyl variants available. I just ordered Lift a Sail. Super excited its still available. $18! $5 for shipping. Not a bad deal. Yellowcard
I know what you mean...I listened to it for a little while when it first dropped. Mainly in preparation for the show I went to. It was super sad listening to it haha. Recently i've started listening to it again and its great. Needed that time to process that they're not coming back haha.
i still don't have any pre-reunion albums on LP. i gotta get on that; if i can even find any. Ocean Avenue is out of print right now, isn't it?
