New song is awesome. Their lyrics always hit me hard and that chorus hit me pretty hard. Gonna miss these guys
:( am sad they are leaving, but it feels like it's their time. they're playing ocean avenue at my date, but i've already seen that record front to back twice and i was really hoping to hear lights and sounds or paper walls front to back one day. knowing that'll never happen makes me really really sad.
Holy fuck I completely missed that this is going to be their final album. I'm gonna have to make it out to the Philly show in November. Need to feel that nostalgia in a live setting one last time.
The music video is too much to handle, i'm assuming many fans feel the same way. I'm sure i'll appreciate it some day but right now it's way too sad.
Band member and photographer didn't appear on that album, so I'd put more wait on the fact that it's a powerful photo than anything.
Grabbed a ticket to the Ocean Avenue show over here in October. Contemplating getting tickets to the regular show when it gets closer as well
I've never been huge on this band, but random question: what would you say is the bands best song(s) lyrically?
I think they have a lot of different songs that people can connect to. I always loved Back Home, but for me I had just moved away to school at the time. There are songs about loss, relationships, and other relatable subject matter. Ryan's always good lyrically.
As already said, gonna be different for everyone... But I think The Sound of You and Me is one of their best, See Me Smiling, Paper Walls, When We're Old Men, Lift a Sail, Shadows and Regrets and City of Devils to name a few...
Personal favorites lyrically are (the song) Southern Air, Miles Apart, Awakening, Waiting Game, Be The Young, The Sound of You and Me, Rivertown Blues. Honestly they're so good I could go on and on lol
Could not pick just one. A small handful of my favorites: Shadows and Regrets, You and Me and One Spotlight, Telescope, Southern Air, Fragile and Dear, Madrid, Lift a Sail, MSK.
MSK is my favorite of the ones I read, I'm doing a blind cover for that Chorus comp thing (again) since I don't really know Yellowcard, so I'm not allowing myself to hear that song until I finish that (assuming no one else takes it from me). haha
Yes! Did it with Motion City Soundtrack when they did that comp because I had literally never heard that band before in my life. It's kind of fun, and even if my song sounds like shit, it's pretty fun to see how wildly different my perception of what the music to the lyrics is compared to what the band actually did.
