Thank you Jason and Craig for this podcast. I know this will be listened to several times before the album drops!
@Craig Manning it was nice to hear about your experience with Lift a Sail; I'm heading to my grandpa's funeral on Friday, so I'm really excited/nervous to listen to this album.
I'm not sure if there's anyone who knows yet (that can legally answer) but is there a fast punk song on here? I kind of doubt it but I really want one final song that sounds like Five Becomes Four, The Takedown, Rivertown Blues, Sound of You and Me, etc.
About 20 minutes in, you guys have done a fantastic job encapsulating ideas and thoughts about the band up to this moment in time. What a great podcast.
Ha, I feel like a lot of people around here have heard my singing voice and not my speaking voice. And everyone thought I was crazy for putting RIP in my top 10 a few months ago. Haha It was their editor in chief who wrote it too. Guy is an asshole. I'm sorry for your loss. It's two years today since the last time I saw my grandpa, and two years this weekend since he passed, so I've been thinking about that time a lot lately. Lift a Sail was definitely one of my go-to albums. Ha, I couldn't remember who said it!
Also, just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the efforts of Hopeless, Yellowcard, and associated parties in not letting this leak. This is very impressive in 2016.
Now that people have preorders it still may leak but we will see maybe the fans will respect the band
Gotcha. I just cancelled my Apple Music sub today, but I guess it's still active for a couple more weeks. I could take this path.
The Russian super duper uber epic leak site still has nothing. I think it's past the point of a leak of any significance anyway.
My feelings exactly. My Merchnow ordered shipped. Transparent Cloudy Clear W/ Opaque Grey,Black, Cream Splatter variant. but yeah. I'm actually not at all emotionally prepared for this band to end. I cried during the final MCS tour; I think it's safe to say I'll be crying more during this show.
really enjoyed listening to that podcast, I decided to turn it off before hearing their thoughts on the final song, think I want to go into the last new yellowcard song blind. I know a lot of people have been listening to the discography leading up, i'll be doing that between today and tomorrow. interested to see what I think of lift a sail, I haven't listened since it came out. yellowcard was one of those bands that every release of theirs came at just the right time when I needed it. life a sail was the first that missed the mark for me. something felt flat, empty, I knew I'd notice a difference without LP, but I didn't think it would feel as gaping a whole as it did when I listened. respected them for going forward and trying something new though. looking forward to this record and hoping it's a satisfying finale to a band that has been by my side through so many life experiences.
I love how Ryan throws a Star Wars reference into Surface Or The Sun. Just couldn't help himself lol. Yeah Southern Air is their Futures, it's them firing on all cylinders and making the most Yellowcard album they could make.
