Wow, because the band is quiet they now don't care about the release of their final album and the fans anticipating it. I was hoping YC threads would improve over time
It's not like they've been completely silent the whole cycle, I've seen plenty on Facebook about it both from them and Hopeless
I mean, it's their last album, they probably don't really care about gaining new fans with it, which is generally what marketing is for. Any longtime fans know this is coming, or will easily find out that it's here when it's released next week.
That's not really the bands fault and I certainly don't blame the band for constantly posting "HEY OUR FINAL ALBUMS COMING OUT AND THEN WERE DONE AFTER THAT"
What do you want them to do exactly? (Im not being sarcastic, but asking honestly). They've released two songs, set up a global tour, the album is going to ship to those who preordered today or shortly. They released a music video. While it would have been cool to get a stream, this is it for these guys. This is the last thing they will ever release. I'm sure they want it to be released in its purest form and heard as a cohesive piece. Just my thoughts!
An album release show playing the new one front to back would be really cool. Idk why bands don't do that more often I'd love to go to them.
Was thinking earlier about how you can really define yellowcard in two different pieces. The six years from 2002-2008 have a certain sound and progression. The two year hiatus And then the six years from 2011-2017 will have a certain sound and progression, as well. Sad it's ending but it seems to fit perfectly into a career where they know it's time to step away.
That would do really well. I remember in 2010/2011 they had a one-off show (one of their first back in the US) somewhere basically in a barn in Pennsylvania, and I was able to snag WYTTSY about a week before anyone else. They were giving out hard copies.
Yea like that sounds awesome. They should do that same barn since it probably is similar to the house on the cover.
FOr those interested in joining me on making this week awesome. Career Catalog Listening Guide Friday: One For The Kids, The Underdog Saturday: Ocean Avenue Sunday: Lights and Sounds Monday: Paper Walls Tuesday: WYTTSY, WYTTSYA (2011) Wednesday: Southern Air, Ocean Avenue Acoustic Thursday: Lift A Sail (2014) Friday: Yellowcard (2016)
Not sure if I can get to OFTK and Underdog today, but I'll try. If not, then I'll listen to whatever I can't get to when I go for a run in the morning. Along with OA.
Awesome. I thought of this a few days back and finally wrote it out today. Think it'll be a cool way to dedicate a week of listening to the band, leading up to the final songs we will hear from them. (Can't believe I'ms saying that.)
