Honest From The Jump's chorus is massive. They're really leaning on their anthemic side here. Yeah this is great comeback EP. The only negative thing I can say about it is that I wish it was a full length as it leaves me wanting more. It may be closer to their earlier pop-punk stuff but I still hear traces of Lift A Sail and S/T here and there so as a fan of all those eras, I'm pleased. So curious to see how they build on this for a future album.
Not yet; usually I get them in the afternoon on release day, so I figure that's what will happen here, too.
That rules so much. The dudes absolutely nailed it with these tracks. They have been on repeat all morning.
Listened couple dozen times already. There is no bad song on this for real. Childhood Eyes stays my favorite though. I absolutely love that chorus and bridge. Great choice for single.
Hiding in the Light is THE song, man. Yellowcard operating at peak form and firing on all cylinders. “Give me all of you every time, destroy me”
I am so so happy with this EP, I am ready for the usual back to back consistent releases from this band
I’m floored by this. I know it’s been a day, but easily one of my favorite E.P.’s of all time. Such a tight collection of catchy tunes that personifies everything this band does great and why people love them.
Sounds like a more mature band writing the songs that people want to hear. Will definitely be spending more time with it.
This is fantastic. Exactly what I want from Yellowcard and released at the perfect time. Had so much fun at the show in Chicago, I've actually only seen them a couple times and that was the first time I saw them properly headline, but definitely not the last. Already looking forward to next time.
Came here to comment it would fit right into that ending stretch with One Spotlight -> Cut Me, Mick -> Paper Walls
Literally my only complaint about this is that it isn't longer, holy shit. This EP is a perfect representation of everything this band is amazing at, I'm so glad that not only do they still have the goods but they're still pushing forward and bringing everything together instead of coasting on the sound that made them popular
Incredible EP. I expected it to be "good" yeah. But this is impeccable. I will say the first time I heard Childhood Eyes I wasn't sold on it. I think it was listen number 3(of the song) that sold me. I don't know how I thought that it wasn't catchy on that first 1st listen.
