Damn, while I love TSL, the differentiation and change up between tracks realllllly stands out here...

one listen through: yup, its V good. i always have a hard time when ive heard 40% of the album beforehand and then I listen to the whole thing and my brain is like "the new album is only 6 songs", and i just judge the album based on those 6 new songs only.

Love Letters Lost (even though I have never loved Skiba's voice) and Barely Alive are maybe my favorite two of the "new" tracks.

Ending with Big Blue Eyes....tearjerker. holy shit, what a beautiful song. kinda reminds me of how the 1975 closed out Being FUnny with "When We are Together". but prettier.

Skin Scraped didnt catch me much on first listen.

I do wish we had more violin in the mix and just in general. but overall, they knocked it out of the park.

Quite a positive first listen! I like it better when they sound more like YC and less like blink, and when the drumming is less obviously Travis Barker, but that's most of the album.

“‘Barely Alive’ is the first song we wrote together for the album. It’s the first song we demoed with Travis Barker. It’s the song that lit the spark for this whole thing to be possible."

This is the craziest part. Such a good song to be the first to be written.

    This is me trying

On my fourth listen. Goodness, this is great. At first I felt like it was a little too Blink inspired. But I think that was an unconscious bias based on knowing Travis drummed and produced. Taking it at face value it's a Yellowcard evolution - a powerful surge. So glad they're back and killing it. What a record. Barely Alive's violin driven bridge is just too good.

One of my all time favorite moments was when Lift a Sail came out and people were asking where the violin was despite the first track on the record being an entire orchestral arrangement

Yeah this album is great. Such a treat to be able to get something like this from these guys. Thank you for continuing to make music.

Very happy with this. They touch on a lot of what I consider to be core Yellowcard while still being able to push the sound forward. City of Angels was a cool surprise and scratches that Jedha/WRK itch. The Avril song is destined for Alt Radio and I could see that doing really well. 10/10 for me song-wise and a brilliant addition to their stellar discography.

    Can’t wait to spin it!

What an awesome past couple of weeks for some incredible jams. I can’t remember a time as packed as this in a long time.

  18. When we first decided to make a full length I wanted to test myself to see if I could still write an entire Yellowcard song on my own. This is back in like October of 2023. I demoed the whole thing at home in my studio. I didn’t show it to the band and Travis until the record was almost done. I guess I just still wasn’t sure. But I’m so stoked it made the record. It was a huge confidence boost for me. After the solo EPs and Jedha and all of the instrumental music I had gotten into for so many years I didn’t know if I could wear this hat again. Rad to see people vibing with that song.

Can we expect the few songs that were on the whiteboard that didn't make the record to see the light of day ? :)

Crazy how good this was on first listen. Even crazier the second time. It already feels like this record combines all the elements of Yellowcard that I love. Takes me back to better days and just makes me smile. Thank you for coming back!

I have so much to say about this, but for now I'll say that this is just...perfect. I will never forget listening to "Yellowcard" in 2016, flying all the way to Anaheim for that final show, thinking that was really it. Listening to this record for the first time just a few minutes ago was such a special experience. Skin Scraped and City of Angels are the early standouts for me. Just awesome.

This absolutely rips. Who would've thought we'd have new Yellowcard in 2025, let alone an album this good. The OMT references are very fair, but it's Travis drumming and co-written by Nick Long, so it was going to happen. OMT also ruled so I'm here for Yellowcard-182.

Love Letters Lost, Skin Scraped and Barely Alive are so good
