Oh yes, I agree, but I'd be overjoyed if Pete was involved in the studio crafting the music with the guys. I don't expect him to rejoin the band as a member. He would contribute greatly as a co-producer/writer/instrumentalist

My old band did a great Trainspotting inspired promo shot around 2007 - I’m gutted I don’t know how to share here

people liked those last 2 albums? i agree with you. they were boring/borderline unlistenable. WYTTSY and Southern Air might be the best 2 albums of their catalog and Id love to hear more like that. id be interested to see who drums for them. NAte from Anberlin is a good drummer, but IMO, he doesnt fit their traditional sound very well. obviously LP was a once-in-a-lifetime powerhouse so tough shoes to fill

  4. Yes, people loved those last two albums (including me). Calling them unlistenable is ridiculous.

Agreed ! I really enjoy Lift A Sail. I can't just jam Convocation-Transmission-Crash The Gates and not feel like listening to the whole album. I love the entire vibe of the album. I've always felt that Fragile And Dear is the culmination of what the guys were going for on this album with its fuzzy distorted guitars/dynamic blend of electronics/soaring vocals/violin magic/in your face drums. It's super unfortunate that many fans just didn't catch the vibe the guys accomplished on LaS. I enjoyed the final self titled album as well, but I go back to LaS a whole lot more.

These fucking guys... I love them so much. I remember being so goddamn happy and sad at the same time at the farewell tour. The mere idea of new music in 2023 is intoxicating. Calling literally any of their music unlistenable is just bait bullshit. One of the most mature and eclectic sounds to come out of the scene the entire time they were there and it was like they had a secret hit machine that was consistently able to crank out something on every able that was a complete treasure. For me, this is some of the best news of the year so far!

Amusingly they have two LaS albums, so that could mean either or haha.

I'm also a huge fan of paper walls and would totally welcome something like that as well... it would also be sick if LP was involved again, but I'd be surprised if that was the case.

In the end I am stoked just to have some more YC :-)

I'm in love with the ordinary

So if Ryan is #2 and Sean is #3, who's gonna be #1? Could you imagine if it's legit all of them who worked on Ocean Avenue? Wondering if #1 could be Ben Harper or the return of LP3, either would make sense considering they were in the band before Ryan was.

Excited as hell for whatever is coming our way!

The doors for BH and LP are hard shut. If anything, theres a sliver of hope for Peter Mosely coming back since Key and him have been hanging out again since June 2022.

if paper walls was the follow up to OA and not lights and sounds, oh man YC would've been YUGE haha!

Unlistenable is definitely a stretch. There's jams to be had on both. I just didn't love them as full albums as much as previous ones.

    Aaaachem!

Am I the only one that puts One For the Kids and underdog in their top 5 releases? Maybe just because I got into them on Underdog and not after OA. Who knows.

Oh yeah, I enjoy OFTK frequently, especially Drifting, Sureshot, For Pete's Sake, and Rough Draft.
I often blast The Finish Line off the Underdog EP.
It's unfortunate that Underdog and the original Gifts & Curses recording wont ever make it on to streaming.

Gifts and Curses, depending on the day, is a top 3 Yellowcard song.

Yesssss its a freakin massive wonderful song and everone shines on it. I'm lucky to have the original Spiderman 2 CD so I have the song on my phone as a file to enjoy in the best quality. Sad that many might still not know about the song at all because its not available out there besides YouTube.
