I need to go back and listen to Yellowcard, they almost have an immaculate discography. Southern Air, Lift a Sail & Lights and Sounds bout to be on heavy rotation.
I really hope it's more in the vein of their first couple comeback albums and not so much Lift A Sail/self-titled. I know folks really dig those albums but they just didn't do it for me.
Nah it’s definitely new music, they’ve had a full tour announced for Ocean Avenue’s 20th anniversary for a while already
Southern Air is perhaps one of the best pop punk albums ever released, so I would be beyond thrilled if they released another record in that vein, or even similar to WYTTSY. I highly doubt they will return to this sound and will continue down the path they were on, but I would love to be wrong. The last 2 albums had a handful of jams, but weren't as good as the former 2 albums.
Maybe I’m overthinking but looks like the song title is Childhood Eyes. And they say “from the makers of Ocean Avenue” so I would think it’s in the same vein as that.
dude same, i call lift a sail lift a fail lol, those last two albums were boring southern air and thinking are top tier YC!
nope lulz no one stays away forever. everyone's got bills to pay and why not? all the members are still alive and healthy. bands just need breaks.
Oh my goodness….this is clearly new music….I must bring up something very interesting that I’ve noticed over the past months. I don’t know if any of y’all have been noticing that Ryan Key and Peter Mosely have clearly rekindled their friendship. He was on a whole 1hr + twitch stream with Ryan not too long ago and Peter was at one of Ryan’s live events and even shared on IG reposted by Ryan himself. !!! What could this possibly mean? I might be reaching here…BUT what if…Peter will be involved with this new music behind the scenes!? I absolutely love everything he contributed to YC during their first era (OA, Gifts & Curses, LS, and PW). Hell, that new picture of Ryan does say “from the makers of Ocean Avenue”…the only ones left from that era are Ryan Key and Sean…Peter was a key contributor on OA. I would freakin cry if it turns out Sir Mosely will be involved in this apparent 3rd upcoming era of YC. Now with both Ryan’s recent work with keyboards/synths combined with Sean’s string powers and Peter’s massive music theory powers…we would be in for a massive treat. I’ve loved ALL YC albums. My favorite being Paper Walls. That lineup involving Peter is my favorite of all YC incarnations. Oh and I freakin loved Lift a Sail and I got to tell Ryan Key that in person when he came down here to Houston for a solo tour date a few years ago. Anyway, what do y’all think of my Peter Mosely YC analysis?
I mean, it’s possible. If I were in the band though, and we’d make more money as a 4-piece instead of a 5-piece, and we’ve already proved that we can be successful on an indie label as a 4-piece (previously hopeless, now equal vision), then I’d stay a 4-piece. But I’m not 100% sure how these things work
