kinda wish they didn't kill off danny and farkas so early although farkas death was the funniest part of the movie. felt like they were carrying the comedic heft early on.

Easily the funniest part of the movie for me, too. It felt like both instances were to subvert expectations, which they certainly did.

Computer, search “is it ok if you don’t know your dad”

  5. One of those movies where I'm shocked at the reaction and am honestly convinced that people who don't like this don't enjoy fun

  6. But maybe I'm biased as the biggest Fred Durst fan on this site

I didn’t even realize this was out yet. Maybe it was just my part of town but I saw 0 marketing in LA for it

This lost some stream after the first act, still enjoying myself with it.

As far as horror comedy goes, I far prefer Companion or Y2K over the Monkey. The Monkey didn’t know what it wanted to be and should have just let into the absurdity of its premise instead of trying to be weirdly serious at times.

  14. I like all three movies, but my defense of The Monkey is that it captures King's voice and tone better than almost any adaptation of his I can think of since 1408
