Whats the worst that could happen though? Not like their eyes could be gauged out or anything like that. Why are face masks even a thing? Lets take them out of high school football too
because getting hit in the face really hard sucks a bunch. not all bad injuries are grisly as something like a consussion. think of how often things like orbital bone fractures happen in wrestling. that kind of recovery time during a 16 week season is something any team would want to avoid
Eyes are gauged in piles with facemasks. That's not a concern. If McMahon wants a different game, he should take the pads completely off and just play tackle football that way. Maybe wear a little bit of padding around the dome like some rugby players do. If they are playing real 11v11 football, then wear the same exact equipment as every other league.
