Psh, let me know when we get an X-Men: Evolution revival.

But, no, really, that’s pretty dope. Hopefully it’s not slavish to that era of X-Men comics (which is infamously ROUGH) and instead borrows highlights of everything after the series.

I know the comics revival immediately brought in Cassandra Nova, so I'm sure this will take a similar trajectory.

I’m gonna watch it, but I’m very disappointed it wasn’t either a new series or a continuation of Evolution lol

I don’t remember how that handled Cassandra Nova (most people post-Morrison don’t use her well, lol), but that’s definitely the kinda thing I wanna see. Morrison-era stuff, X-23, some New Mutants characters, etc.

If they have to focus on 90s (& earlier) nostalgia, at least give me my Gen X, especially Monet. And, please don’t do Onslaught, lol, though I bet they won’t be able to resist that nostalgic shit show. I’d also love an episode guest starring the 90s Spider-Man.

We know Evolution is a better show, but most people don’t, lol. The 90s show is just so historically significant, with that fantastic theme song (composed by the same guy who did Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers) and its role in getting so many people into X-Men/comics as a whole. Just as an experience, a random episode of Evolution is better, but TAS is the *important* one.

Honestly, I want this to do well so they might revive Spider-Man. Either 90s or Spectacular, I don't care which.

Yeah I know why they did the 90s show (and I kinda knew this was coming since an animated X-Men show being in development leaked a little bit ago), just wanna take any opportunity I can to convince people to watch Evolution lol

Bring back Spider-Man Unlimited, you cowards.

    jk, no one wants that.

Honestly, I don’t need a billion nostalgic revivals, just like how I don’t need every actor to play every nostalgic role forever. Just doing an episode of XM97 with that Spider-Man, with a little taste of his music and a scene of him with MJ (not talking about him finding her; just showing that they’re together). That’s enough for me.

The fact that they are bringing this back means the views of the original on Disney+ are probably insane.

  12. I know I've watched it a ton of times myself. Last season is so bad haha but most of it is a ton of fun.

Lana Condor for Jubilee would be fun.

There’s already a voice cast announcement, which doesn’t say who’s doing what but does include sixteen different names. So, it’s probably safe to assume there aren’t any X-Men movie actors in the main cast, lol. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say, out of the announced names, Holly Chou is probably Jubilee.

…and, Anniwaa Buachie is probably Storm.

I’m unfamiliar with Holly Chou but I’ll take it. I’d just like to see Condor get another shot after the disappointment of Apocalypse.

    X-MEN RED IS COMING BACK?

  20. Tim

With the way this era has reused old names in new ways, I wouldn't assume "X-Men Red" means here what it meant pre-HoX/PoX. (And, while that previous X-Men Red was a massive breath of fresh air at the time when compared to Inhumans vs X-Men or X-Men Gold... I don't want that exact kinda book in the Krakoa era? lol.)

I haven't always had the best luck guessing some of these X-Men things, lol, but my thoughts:

X-Men Red: the post-SWORD Arakko book
Legion of X: the follow-up to Way of X
Knights of X: the replacement for Excalibur?
    Immortal X-Men: ???????

Really wanna know which one Leah Williams is writing.

Also, I remember some online sleuths deducing that a scribbled out person in an X-office Zoom screenshot had a room that looked like Kieron Gillen’s room, which makes me read this tweet a certain way:

It’s seriously rude of Dauterman to make the best Storm design ever twice in one year.

So this new era is basically going to be an extension of the current Krakoa status quo for a few years and then Hickman will be returning to basically resume his long game, right?

Here’s what Gillen had to say about the new series...

“So, the match is lit, and IMMORTAL X-MEN is a book about the burning. To speak in a Hickmanian idiom, this is the NEW AVENGERS to Gerry [Duggan]'s AVENGERS. This is the book about Krakoa, and the Quiet council, with all its muffled screams. It's about a group of people, some of whom are convinced they're in the West Wing, some who have designs to be in House of Cards and at least one who knows they're in Veep. It's big ideas, politics, fights and fashion, lies, creation and destruction, all told across the widest possible canvas, in time and space. It's some characters I've written before, with the volume turned up. It's me falling in love with some characters I've never touched. It's me somehow talking Marvel into paying me for having this much fun.

Oh, well, this is a wonderful surprise. Gillen writes the X-Men very well. I still carry a torch for his Generation Hope.
