By no means do I hate it, but even by your description, it seems to say that it's an entirely average movie.

Can we maybe hold off on details about characters til at least next Thursday night? Most of what's been said could probably be safely assumed, but I'd still rather not have stuff confirmed.

That's all I'll say. Not trying to spoil anything, just tempering expectations.

    Agreed ^ @Greg

I shouldn't have said anything, haha.

It's fine. I'm pretty sure Singer actually revealed that about Jubilee already.

I just have to be cautious about spoilers. I basically got the last shot of The Force Awakens ruined months (or maybe weeks? Can't remember) in advance cause it was just posted in the public thread. Very obnoxious.

Oh man, that sucks. I would have been super annoyed by that too.

I don't see it as average though, just that the quality of other films has been so high that this is only a step below and not at the level of Last Stand which is where the reviews are putting this at.

Just saw this. Was pretty good, I enjoyed it. I went in with low expectations after seeing the mixed reviews but the fight scenes were well done and it had everything I've come to expect from an X-Men movie

Turns out that Psylocke is actually Luke. That is why she has little dialog.

    I just saved you $12. You're welcome.

Isn't that what was supposed to happen back in the day? They made X-Men Origins: Wolverine and planned on doing Origins: Magneto but then scrapped it and crammed it into First Class instead.

I honestly still wish that movie had happened instead of First Class. Could have been Fox's best Marvel film.

I remember back in the day hearing about it and not sure how I felt about it. Then I saw First Class and realized what I missed out on. At least we get a taste of it in First Class.

Movie was decent. Lots of flaws, but it feels like they're getting ready to pass the mantle from Mystique and Co to the new X-men (Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Nightcrawler WOOOO)which is a very good thing. Hopefully they move away from the give-all-the-plot-to-whoever's-famous approach and give proper roles to each X-man
(Spoiler tagged, thought it doesn't really give anything about the plot, just the possible direction of the next films and which characters are in it)

Agree with the posts about Magneto though. Disliked some of the writing Fassbender was given in this film, but his Magneto is so awesome. Overall I still admire the way they restarted the franchise without rebooting/doing it from scratch.

Sophie Turner is going to own Hollywood by the time she's done.

The actors in this are better than the script. It's not fantastic. But it was a ton of fun in the way X-men spectacles are.

I enjoyed this. Has it's flaws and whatnot, but it was fun.

Phoenix force! Don't even care if they kinda rushed Jean into that. Hopefully they have more to do with Psylocke in the next film, assuming she returns
Post credits scene made me smile.

  24. DoFP is still my favorite X-Men flick, but Apocalypse was excellent. It felt just like the cartoon from the '90s, especially with that climax and post credits scene.

That post-credit scene baffled my entire audience. LOL

First off, WHY WAS TAY TAY NOT IN THIS?

This film was worth it for THOSE three scenes.

    Minor complaints:
    - Thought the 'coming together' thing at the end felt a bit rushed.
    - Way to not characterize any of the Horseman.
    - Why didn't Apocalypse get more than four Horseman? Going against the biggest telepath in the world who has a SCHOOL FULL OF POWERFUL MUTANTS makes little sense.
    - Why is Mystique looked at like such a hero? She basically does nothing. Is she Nightcrawler's mother?
    - Why did we have to wait until the end for the killer costumes?
