I should rewatch the Taker match from last year. Everyone there was so burned out waiting by the exits for the result. No one cared.
Cena has lost his last few big matches and will likely follow suit at the Rumble, so I guess he benefits a little there in kayfabe, but yeah it's too late. still might be fun in a vacuum though
Its bad. I rewatched it the next day because I too was burned out and figured my dislike of it was just being worn out. Theres a half dozen obvious botches because Taker cant do it anymore. In terms of in-match storytelling, its probably Reigns' best work. His facial expressions at the end actually sold the confusion of the spear not working. Makes me hopeful that Brock/Reigns as a finish spamming fight where neither can put the other down could work
Brock/Roman will probably be a good match. I'm over hating on the inevitable. I'm ready for the belt to leave Brock for sure.
Taker had his hip replaced recently and Bruce Prichard says it's the best he's looked in ten years. Who knows.
i'm with you on this, i really am. but the "Taker is in the best shape since ___" and the photos of him looking well have been surfacing every year since like the Mania 30. cautiously optimistic
At this point the only thing id want to see is takes get revenge on reigns... which isn't happening. The cena ship has sailed for me
lotta revisionist history in here lol. taker/reigns was horrible, and it was both of their faults (and the feud was doomed anyway). brock/roman II will likely be almost as bad. Their first match was fun because it was entertaining to see roman get the shit kicked out of him and keep standing up. Also, back then, Brock's relentless 3 move offense gimmick hadn't gotten stale yet. Neither of those things will be true this time around and it will be the fourth year in a row that Reigns main events WM, with massive fatigue setting in. If they go through with this match as is, it's going to be one of the worst WM main events ever. Taker/Cena should have happened last year, obviously. There's no one better than Cena to retire him so if this isn't his last match then idk what to say. It absolutely "makes sense" if he's leaving. I don't really care whether taker wins or loses his last match personally, don't think it matters much either way for either character. Just put them both together in a segment of the show that I can ignore. I would have had some legitimate interest in this match last year - this year probably not so much.
If he's in it, he has to win it right? Like, there's no way they're dumb enough to make the same mistake twice.... right?
i know betting odds aren't in stone the weekend of let alone a week and a half out, but i had not even considered the Bryan would be in the Rumble so just the fact it planted the thought sucks. how would that work if he won? the shane angle would be left unresolved unless they balance that feud with the title feud, maybe shane as a guest ref again
I don’t even know what I’ll do if Bryan is in the Rumble. I sat in my room as a 28 year old adult man and ugly cried when he had to retire.
i'm gonna be scared for him the entire time. even if he's not at the risk we once thought he was, he has still sustained a gross number of concussions and injuries.
I’ve been against him wrestling anywhere again unless Brie got on board and by all accounts it looks like she is. Still going to be nervous af watching if he is actually in, though.
probably just means his name is being thrown around, which is a good thing. it's way wayyy too early for anything like this to have real meaning
