it's easy to look at the asuka deflation and try to pin it just on her, but i don't. (disclaimer: not a hardcore charlotte fan here). i blame it more on the booking of her, or the goldberg syndrome as i just put it. i don't think creative had any idea on how to reposition/rebuild the 'myth' of the undefeated asuka after her mania loss. could have had her destroy charlotte in the rematch on the next ppv and have her hold the strap another 6-9 months. but they simply cast her aside and let her drift away.

 

The function of that though is that Charlotte is the easy way out. Its the exact set of choices they make with Brock; and while I generally trust NXT to find something compelling, if its a Charlotte match on the WM main card, HHH will not have final say. And all it'll take is some stupid Vince reason (he doesnt like her look, she was too timid to speak up, etc) for it go sideways.

Though if the ultimate outcome is Sasha/Bayley, Becky/Shayna, Rhea/Charlotte...then I guess im fine with the risk.

 

Idk if anyone has said this yet but I saw some shit, might be dirt sheet bullshit, that Sting is gonna work the next Saudi show. It's so believable though that I doubt it's fake.

Couple notes from WON that I read so far

-Becky/Shayna for Mania is also the plan with the other stuff we know about so far

-Meltz daddy said he heard edges contract was massive, 3 million territory, he used AEW as leverage, good for him. He said he heard it was for 5 matches and 25 tv appearances but then was told that's incorrect and that he will have more matches and tv appearances that that which is awesome.

 

Uhhh so not sure how factual this is, but it’s supposedly Goldberg/bray in Saudi Arabia, that’s certainly something. Figured it would be Corbin/Goldberg though since him and reigns are seemingly done feuding.
