NXT tapings tonight. Beth Phoenix doing commentary. Shane Strickland vs Trevor Lee opening (probably dark)
Raiders seemingly relinquished the titles after a DQ finish. What a lame end to an otherwise great run
It'd be amazing, but feels like thats gonna be a lot like the Riddle match. Dream took too many losses early on, so now he needs a few solid wins before dropping the NA title and going for the main belt
War Raiders shouldn't have relinquished and neither should Dream or anyone else. it might be NXT's worst habit. Raiders losing on a show that probably less than 5% of Raw's audience will ever watch does nothing to harm them, but them leaving as champs pretty much buries all other teams on NXT and leaves them looking like they're fighting for second place. just watch Raiders become irrelevant on main within six months and no one gained anything.
and it's only going to be lamer on the main roster - they'll be irrelevant like all the other NXT tag teams on main roster
Agreed. The last few months of tag team action in NXT has been utterly pointless. Now, they've to start a new tag story with very few actual competitors.
Relinquishing can be done right but shouldn’t be done all the time. Paige was a good example when she moved from NXT to main roster. If it is someone that you know can be a big star, there’s nothing wrong with letting go of the smaller belt without losing. Plus if you have good talent in waiting you can have a good tournament. How dumb is it to lose to a mid carder but then be able to beat the main eventer. But in the war raiders scenario y’all are spot on. Relinquishing sucks because they probably aren’t going to do much on the main roster and they didn’t do much in their short NXT run either. So in that case it makes everyone look weak.
Especially so soon after the dusty Rhodes classic where a cobbled together team won it then lost against the War Raiders.
Forgotten sons are the only one who didnt lose in the first round...in kayfabe none of the other teams should be competing for it. Moustache Mountain has more of a claim
