Really happy for this guy. His passion for wrestling is contagious, and I took note of him as a great, friendly interviewer long before I knew he was a wrestling fan.

WWE is trying to take over the wrestling world. Literally every aspect of it.

 

The tough thing about that is definitely the blood. A hardcore match almost feels pointless without it. Given all of the safety issues, I don't think we'll ever see anything like that ever again.

CZW has a firm grasp on that market.

Agreed on both of these. And it worked well for the CWC, so it could easily work for a catch UK style and a womens tourney. Hell, do them like BOLA as one-offs, but have them for a shot at the NXT title or something.

Considering every other brand has pretty awful streaming options, I consider this a good thing. Only downside is if Vince needs 100% control of everything...but, if CWC/NXT are an indication, he cares mainly about the main roster. So a bunch of side shows could be run by HHH and others.

Give me a Paul Heyman booked hardcore brand

 

I think 2006-2010's WWECW completely ended any chance of a revival there.

I don't know if enough wrestling fans would be able to connect Birmingham, Alabama to the leading athletic joint doctor in the world. I think its real.

Mojo could honestly use a singles push. Ryder is kind of a damper, which is weird to think.

I think it is too soon to feed AA to the wolves/Wyatts. They are likely the ones who are going to go over, but you can't make the Wyatts look weak this soon.

The 24/7 rule for the hardcore title would be so fun nowadays. Those few years with all those goofy title exchanges were amazing, and every once in a while the scene was punctuated by some great matches, like Rhyno vs Raven at Backlash.

 

Let's not forget about the Evening Gown match between Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco for the title.

 

Mojo and Heath as singles is basically exactly what Smackdown needs in their mid-card. New people for Miz/Corbin/etc to feud with

Its basically what DDT does. And considering how uch damn social media stuff WWE tries to push, it seems obvious. Its not like the hardcore title was ever series once ECW merged anyway
