The huge mistake is that there is going to be a brutal HIAC match between Roman/Rusev (I imagine very similar to his Bray one) probably to kick off the show. And then there will be a more high flying spot fest between Owens/Rollins.

So, the women are going to have to live up to one or the other, and do so after they've gone on. Whereas opening the night with the womens HIAC means the crowd is hot and they dont have to match anything.

I thought Bray/ Roman was super boring last year. Might have been because I was on the hate train though.

That said, if Sasha lives through the match, I gotta feel like they'll put on a damn good match. Someone's going through the cage wall. And a finish on top of the cage would be sick.

Meltzer gave it ***3/4, which was bested only by Taker/Lesnar. If it had been 16-18mins instead of 25, itd probably have been rated higher. Had some cool spots with the kendo sticks.

And Id argue Rusev is a more believable threat, and Roman's in-ring work has gotten better.

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

the more i think about it (so, about three minutes) i can't imagine Goldberg getting the win against Brock - unless it's dirty and let's Brock win in a follow up match against Goldberg. and i don't think they're having that shitshow go on twice.

i'm almost starting to believe that Strowman comes out after Lesnar wins and they have a stare down leading to a build at Rumble or somewhere else.

Remember when Braun fucked up the plan at the Royal Rumble and Brock just hammered him with stiff shots? That was great.

I feel like they would have Shane cost Lesnar the match some how and that's how they start the build to Mania. Then Goldberg can have his last match and probably go to the HOF or something.

When it comes to potential future Lesnar opponents I think I agree with Meltzer that the matchup they should really be building to longterm is Lesnar/Samoa Joe.

They'd obviously have to debut Joe first and build him up for awhile before that happens, but he is really the most natural matchup style wise for Lesnar currently on the WWE roster. I think Meltzer said that if anyone currently in WWE is going to be the one that finally beats Lesnar clean that it should be Joe.

We really need a heel we can hate. The Joe they are using in NXT right now is SOOOOO perfect for it. If they put him over, we could finally get a champ with some real heel heat. It feels like we haven't really had one in years. I can't count Shaemus and Rollins.

Wait, is Shane-Lesnar at WM really a thing that's going to happen? I've been pretty checked out of the product in the last few months but ... no thanks.

either rumble or mania it seems. if they do it at rumble they can at least have shane hire someone to take down brock. if not, brocks last match is shane

its the biggest standing rumor right now. They've kinda been teasing it at least a little bit for a while now.

Count me as probably the lone person in the world that just does not find Broken Matt Hardy interesting in the least.

This is the reason I cannot fucking wait for Roddy's solo run in NXT. His run as PWG champ over the last year was one of the best heel runs i've seen in years. No "indie darling" can make the smarks in the audience that would typically cheer for the indie heel hate him like Roderick Strong.

Was entertaining for a minute, mostly because it came out of nowhere, but I'm with you. It ran its course and it's right up there with the New Day for me in terms of "get off my TV" heat.

That's cool, but even if you don't like the gimmick it's really hard not to at least respect the fact that within the span of less than a year he reinvented himself from being widely seen as a hasbeen joke to one of the most popular gimmicks outside of WWE.

To paraphrase what Brian Alvarez recently said "in 2016 WWE still hasn't been able to get Roman over, yet Matt Hardy has gotten himself, a baby, a drone, his father in law, and a boat over"

Broken Matt is easily gimmick of the year for me, but hey to each his own.

Yeah I love Broken Matt, but I don't follow wrestling podcasts/twitter/even TNA for that matter, so I'm far from overplaying him. Really just seen Final Deletion, Delete or Decay, the BFG match, and the associated vignettes.

? I know Braun no-sold, did he screw anything else up?

Brock losing at all is just a bad idea...because it almost necessitates a second Goldberg match.

Here's the thing, Brock can be that guy. Have him demolish Goldberg, beat him down after, kill Shane and HHH when they come out to stop it, and murder the entire locker room as well.

People are already ready to turn on Brock after the Randy shit...just go all the way.

Mostly just the no sell. It seemed like something was supposed to happen and he completely forgot what that was.

Ah, I had always heard it the other way around. Strouman was told to no sell, but nobody told Brock. So everything after hit #1 is just him pissed off

Why is it Brock's last match? His current WWE contract runs through March 2018.
